SOURCE: did brake job on 1992 chevy pickup, how do I release proportional valve?

some times you get an air bubble and you just cant get it to pass. you can work very hard and still not get it to bleed. snapon sells a bleeder system that sell for around $500 but i can tell you how to build one for under $20. if interested. but your answere is to back bleed the system from the farthest away wheel first. and then your peddel will come back.

SOURCE: lost all oil pressure no oil getting to top of engine

mileage?..over heated? oil to top is function of oil pump and oil passageways ..bad worn lower engine (crankshaft/bearings)......oil pump push rod..under distributor driven gear down into block to oil pump in oil pan..clogged passages/oil filter/oil filter bypass...... do a oil pressure test while cranking from port on side of block low and determine if bottom end has the pressure first

SOURCE: 1999 Chevy S10 Blazer 4x4. Replacing rear pad's,& Bleeding Breaks

have one person in the blazer pumping the brake pedal and then hold to the floor, crack the bleeder then tighten, release pedal, repeat till all air is out one side at a time, if this does not work then your ABS unit is bad witch if u follow your lines from your master cylinder u will find a black box with a motor on it, or the master cylinder itself is bad, it also can cause u to have no pedal, replace the master cylinder first, most likely cheaper.

SOURCE: I need to know how to bleed the brakes on a 1999 chevy blazer

  1. Apply the brakes several times with the ignition OFF in order to relieve the brake vacuum reserve.
  2. Fill the master cylinder reservoirs with DOT 3 motor vehicle brake fluid.
  3. Maintain the fluid level during bleeding.
    1. If the brake pressure modulator valve of the antilock brake system is replaced or if you suspect that air is trapped inside, bleed the brake pressure modulator valve next.
    2. Follow this sequence if it is necessary to bleed all four wheels:
6.1. Right rear wheel cylinder or caliper. 6.2. Left rear wheel cylinder or caliper. 6.3. Right front wheel caliper. 6.4. Left front wheel caliper.
7.1. Place the hex end of the wrench over the wheel cylinder bleeder valve. 7.2. Immerse the opposite end of the hose into a clear container partially filled with clean brake fluid.
8.1. Place the proper size hex end of the wrench over the caliper bleeder valve. 8.2. Place a clear tube over the caliper bleeder valve. 8.3. Immerse the opposite end of the hose into a clear container partially filled with clean brake fluid.
    1. Slowly apply the brake pedal one time and hold.
    2. Loosen the bleeder valve in order to purge the air from the wheel cylinder or caliper.
    3. Tighten the bleeder valve and slowly release the brake pedal.
    4. Wait 15 seconds. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
    5. Repeat this sequence, including the 1 5-second wait, until all air is purged from the wheel cylinder or caliper. Tighten the bleeder valve to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.).
    6. Repeat steps 7-13 at each wheel until the brake system is bled.
    7. Clean any brake fluid off the vehicle that may have gotten on it during the bleeding procedure.
    8. Inspect the brake pedal for sponginess, and inspect the brake warning lamp for an indication of unbalanced pressure. Repeat the bleeding procedure in order to correct either of these conditions.
    9. Fill the master cylinder reservoir to the proper level.

1998 CHEVY BLAZER...REPLACE MASTER CYLINDER, BOTH REAR CALIPERS AND ROTORS AND EVEN SCANNED THE ABS SYSTEM....NO PEDAL...hELP!!!

Vic, Because you changed master cylinder air probably got into the ABS modulator. Air can be very difficult to remove from an ABS modulator assembly because of the solenoid valves, if no bleed screw on the modulator, you may need a pressure bleeder and a scan tool to cycle modulator to bleed trapped air. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck. "I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button. I replaced the brake master cylinder on my 91 Lincoln Mark 7 with a non high pressure master cylinder and the rear brakes do not hold. Do I need to change the cal. on the rear also?

ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (and HCU-Hydraulic Control Unit)
General Information The 4-Wheel Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) is an electronically operated, all wheel brake control system. Major components include the power brake booster, master cylinder, the wheel speed sensors, and the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) which contains the control module, a relay, and the pressure control valves. The system is designed to ****** wheel lockup during periods of high wheel slip when braking. Retarding wheel lockup is accomplished by modulating fluid pressure to the wheel brake units. When the control module detects a variation in voltage across the wheel speed sensors, the ABS is activated. The control module opens and closes various valves located inside the HCU. These valves, called dump and isolation valves, modulate the hydraulic pressure to the wheels by applying and venting the pressure to the brake fluid circuits. Some models are equipped with a Traction Assist (TA) system. The TA system senses wheel spin upon acceleration, turns on the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) pump and applies fluid pressure to the appropriate rear wheel. Two additional isolation valves in the HCU will also close to permit fluid to flow only to the rear wheels. The TA system monitors TA usage to avoid overheating the rear brakes. If the system does sense brake overheating, the ABS module will inhibit TA operation until the rear brakes are permitted to cool down.
---
SYSTEM COMPONENTS The anti-lock brake system consists of the following components:
  • Vacuum booster and master cylinder assembly
  • Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU)
  • ABS module
  • Wheel sensors
  • Pedal travel switch
---
On 1992-1994 and 1995-00 a scanner is used to perform the brake bleed. But on yours, I think it's different according to the manual.
---
What do you mean change the cal. on the rear also? Do you mean Caliper?

Bleed brakes on 96 chevy 1/2 ton

YOUR TRUCK HAS KELSEY HAYES FOUR WHEEL DRIVE ANTI LOCK BRAKES EBC 310. YOU CAN BLEED BRAKES MANUAL STARTING AT - RR- LR RF- LF. THIS IS BLEEDING SEQUENCE.BUT YOU NEED A TECH 1 OR 2 SCANNER BECAUSE IF YOU REPLACED THE BPVM OR BRAKE PRESSURE MODULATOR VALVE.BECAUSE AIR TRAPPED IN VALVE ASSEMBLY.THE TECH 1 OR 2 SCANNER YOU HAVE PUT IN THE FUNCTIONAL TEST BLEED AIR OUT OF VALVE ASSEMBLY.THEN YOU CAN BLEED BRAKES MANUAL.

Just changed rear disc pads and one caliper on 2001 Chevy Blazer...now rear brakes are not working at all...fluid is in lines as it comes out when bleeding...help!

the problem here is in order to bleed the brakes properly u need to have a special tool to open up the ABS high pressure pop-it valves, this special tool will be avail at the dealer or in a generic form at any well equiped front end shop, u just can't bleed the brakes without it, I see this same posted problem over and over, this information is correct, u will need a shop to bleed the brakes

No fluid pressure coming out of ABS modulator

you have to get a scanner and perform a function bleed test on abs valve to work air out of valves, some also have push pins under rubber buttons on side that you can manually push to remove air

I need to know how to bleed the brakes on a 1999 chevy blazer

Start from right rear, then, left rear, right front, left front. Fill master cylinder. Have helper sit in car, have helper hold brake pedal down. open bleed screw. fluid and air comes out. close screw. release brake pedal. Continue until no air comes out. Move to next wheel. Keep an eye on master cylinder fluid level after each wheel.
