Autozone will pull diagnostic codes for free. have them reset them and if the light comes back then take it to the shop.

Dtc 0700 jerks when shifting from reverse to drive

The transaxle Control Module (TCM) monitors the malfunction of sensors and actuators relating to transaxle control. When the TCM detects a malfunction with the control, a signal is send to the Engine Control Module (ECM) to trigger the Engine Light or Service Engine Soon light. The ECM stores the P0700 code and it means the TCM detected a malfunction with the transaxle controls.

I have a 2001 Chevrolet Impala with about 94,000 miles on it. I took it to a parts store to run a diagnostic after noticing the "Check Engine" light on. The code it threw was a p1810 - TFP VALVE POSITION...

with a scan tools look for data of transmission.
then look for A,B,C,D switch data and compare with chart
these valve are there to confirm oil pressure has been going to the right component.
see witch one of a b c d switch malfunction and have a test to wire from transmission to pcm
signal to pcm it's only a logic pattern on and off state
on is grounded
off is not grounded then if wire is ground then it send a message of malfunctionning switch or oil pressure inside transmission but do the outside diagnosis before
hope it helps

Engine check light stays on in 07 cryshler pacifica

The check engine light is because all check engine light codes are caused by components that affect emissions. It's not actually an engine problem, it's a problem with either your O2 sensor, MAF sensor, fuel/air ratio, pyrometer, or exhaust.
The system was built because the EPA decided people were not concerned enough with emissions, and if people thought they had an engine problem they would get it fixed, but if they knew it was a simple emissions problem they would let it go.
I would start with an OBDII scan, which you can get for free at your local parts store. This will tell you what component is malfunctioning, and then you can decide if it's worth fixing or not. But rest assured, the oil leak has nothing to do with your check engine light.

My Olds Bravada runs just fine , i really just need the engine light off , so i can get a better trade in value . is their a wire I can disable for the mass Air flow sensor? without affecting the air...

Hi, sorry but it isn't that simple. The computer monitors the sensor functions and must receive appropriate data from the sensor, or it will set the light. The only way to put the light out without correcting the malfunction is to unhook the light itself, but then it will not pass the bulb check either. If you would like information on troubleshooting the malfunction, please send the trouble code, and I would be happy to help.

My check engine light came on but, nothing seems wrong. What are some reasons it may have comeon?

There are a ton of reasons the light could have come on. If you don't notice anything it might be just an emissions problem, but it should be scanned to at least see what Diagnostic Trouble Codes are stored. The OBD2 connector inside the vehicle can be scanned with a simple code reader that costs $50-$100, but that doesn't always tell you what's the proper repair is, just helps narrow things down to what you need to look at.

Check engine light is flashing and cruise quit working

DO NOT DRIVE IT.....Driving it when the check engine is flashing may cause a simple problem to become a major problem if not fixed right away. Cruise control will always disable when the check engine light is on, when cleared, it will work again. Blinking light means serious malfunction, needs to be repaired right away. This can be many things, from simple multiple cylinder misfire, to something more serious.

Check engine light keeps popping on, but nothing seems to be wrong with the vehicle.

The check engine light comes ON when the cars computer(the ECU) notices any kind of electrical problem in car.In some cases the check engine light comes on then turns off.In that case the exact error is not getting confirmed so this happens. But once the problem gets confirmed the engine light will remain permanently ON till the problem gets solved. In this case i suggest you to get your car scanned at autozone service center. Its absolutely free.In case in the car scanning,if any error code is retrieved then you can check which part is faulty as per the error code.In case if no error code is retrieved then you can continue driving, till you get any confirmed indication. ---------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Check Engine light flashing

Pull the code(s) at the moment the Check Engine light is flashing. Purchase an OBDII scanner (Auto Zone, Car Quest, O'Riely's, etc.) Be ready when it happens... do not shut off the engine ... plug the OBDII scanned into the DLC (Data Link Connector) and retrieve the code(s) at the moment it happens. If you still don't retrieve any codes when this happens, you have a malfunctioning ECM (Engine Control Module). Before you replace it (if this actually happens - no codes and Check Engine light is flashing), Disconnect both battery cables and touch them together for 30 seconds. Reconnect them to the battery and drive vehicle to see if it happens again (could be junk/corruption in ECM memory banks). If it happens again, the ECM is malfunctioning. REASONING: Whenever the "Check Engine" light comes on, there is ALWAYS a DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) stored in the ECM (Engine Control Module). If no codes are retrieved, there's only one cause - ECM MALFUNCTION!

Check Engine Oil Level Light Coming on when driving on interstate

Hi, this will happen when the oil sending unit(module) is malfunctioning. This a sensor that reads the information and sends the alerts which initiates the lights actions. Replacing this sending unit(module) will fix this issue. There is a more sever issue that may not be the case but, there is a chance. The oil pump itself may be malfunctioning. this could also trigger this alert as well. I suspect the sending unit may be malfunctioning.

please rate and have a great day...
