Idles high from first to second gear .

Define idles high like its going high rpms before shifting or the engine itself is high reving if its high rpming when shifting its mostly you tranny going out you can try tranny fix oil I used it on my truck when it had shifting problems and ive had no problems since it takes a few days to work though and if its the motor itself it could be a lot of things but I dont know much of the problem based on what you told us

Mitsubishi triton mn

it may require a ECM upgrade in the software
in the mean time restrict the rpms between gear changes
for example accelerate in first ti around 3000 rpms and slow down the selection and keep the rest of the changes around the 2500-3000 rpm range
naturally , the harder yo rev it the longer it will take for the rpms to drop
just as a point of interest how did you get a brand new car that is 4 years old ?

1994 gmc sierra pickup 4.3L V6 automatic transmission experiencing difficulties with ODrive = 4th gear, and Drive = 3rd gear, engine revs up to the max properties with little to no forward motion. Rev

You have internal transmission damage I expect the clutches on third and fourth gear are wiped out. Its either that or a solenoid gone bad that holds those clutches pressure get it in a transmission shop soon to avoid whole transmission replacement costs.

Rpms rev. high before it will go into gear. and it wont go into overdrive unless you play with the gas and the gear shifter.

when was the transmission last serviced? it seems like the transmission filter is plugged and it takes the pump higher rpms to push fluid through try changing the tranny filter.,

My rpms wont go over 3000 on my 94 toyota 4 runner.

the V6 has a rev limiter in gear that keeps it under this in first gear. put the tranny in Power mode if it's an automatic. it will **** more gas, however.

1999 ford expedition,my rpms revs up in between 1st and 2nd gear

Rebuilding one of these right now! The 4R100 trans has a rachet type of intermediate sprag that fails. They break apart, bind up and eventually second gear is gone.
Otherwise it may be just a simple valve body calibration kit could cure. This is common also. And cheaper! Excessive metal in the pan would be a sign of the bigger problem listed above

My jeep will drive normally until i feel the automatic transmission switch into second gear. Once the gear changes, the rpms rev up but there is no power going towards the wheels

maybe the speed sensor on the transmission monitors transmission speed and sends info to computer to control shifting not sure if this is helpful
