There are a lot of people that find that even though they put the car into drive it actually does not move and this is often caused by a simple oversight on the part of the driver. Another thing that can cause this problem is a serious fault with the transmissions from the engine. The parking brake (emergency brake) will stop the car from moving even when it has been put into gear. Is it an automatic or manual?----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just when parked? The radiator fan has probably failed and is not blowing any air.

My 1997 buick park avenue, is getting hot. upper radiator hose gets under extreme pressue, stem coming from radiator hose/radiator inlet, leaks coolant only after shut off??

Normal pressure is 16 psi controlled by the radiator or coolant tank filler cap. Sometimes a cap fails to hold the proper pressure this is most noticeable at engine shut off, water and steam blow out

In stop and go traffic or in park at idle my car overheats and my air conditiooner blows off freon when I have the air on

Check for a stuck thermostat, but much more likely, your radiator is restricted. Also check for proper radiator cooling fan operation.

My heater, when parked and idle, cools down. The heater will heat again once I begin driving, but this is freezing me as I sit and wait for my kids at school. It blows cool air while I am parked and will...

It could be the electric fan is going on too easily.
The radiator and hoses should be almost too hot to touch.
And when cold, the fan should not really do on at all.
But the thermostat could be opening too soon also.
There are two hoses to the radiator, and when you start a cold car, only one should slowly get hot.
The other should stay cold until the thermostat opens, after the engine is good and hot.
If both start slowly getting warm at the same time, then you need a new thermostat.
And also make sure you have enough coolant in the radiator.

Heat blows cold when car is idling

You have an air pocket in the cooling system. To bled it out you will have to park vehicle on an incline or jack up the front end untill the radiator cap is higher than the heater core. The remove radiator cap and run engine until warm then hold rpm to about 1200 rpm's and top off coolant level until you have no more bubbles.

95 Park Avenue blows cold air.

Yes it is easy to get to. should be where the top radiator hose connects to the radiator housing . Housing is bolted to the engine. Two bolts, thermostat sits under this.
