Just had the same problem and i ended up having to change the altenator, for 2 or 3 weeks i would have to bang on the altenator with a hammer while it was running because my battery light would keep coming on. but after a few taps with a hammer you could actually here it start working again. i did that one to many times and broke the housing on the altenator and eventually had to replace it.

put number 1 cylinder at top dead center and drop in distributor so the rotor points to number 1 on cap. may have to try several times as gear moves when lowering dist.

Car won't start even with a boost

I doubt it is a fuse. Is the security light staying on ?
The check engine light would mean the computer found a problem and has stored a trouble code. That code would be very helpful in tracking down the problem.
Meanwhile, if the engine will not crank, and you have 12 volts at the battery posts, you would then check for power at the starter. Could be a security problem, the neutral safety switch, the key switch, or other issues.

My car starts only when boosted

Measure the voltage across the car battery with a volt meter with the alternator running .. It needs to read 13.4 volts or higher to charge the battery.

My asb light comes on when starting and stays on. Lights won't come on , power locks won't work, power windows won't work, radio won't work. All fuses are good and car runs fine.

Those are all really common symptoms of the alternator going bad on those cars. I would have it checked to make sure it's charging properly.

Won't start from battery but starts from boost. Battery is okay starter is okay

Probably an intermittent ignition switch. Try start it by connecting a wire directly to the starter solenoid and touching it on the + of the battery. Ignition switch must be ON and be sure the car is NOT in gear.

check your ignition fuse and relay fuse.also check your master fuses located on the fire wall they are the ones that run from your nattery to your maine master fuse.follow the battery cable the red one all the way to the fire wall and from there it gos to the starter you may have burned thoses fuses out remove the black fuse cover

My truck has sat for awhile but it boosted off just fine. I t ran for about 10-15 min then died. I tried to start it again nothing happened. I tried to boost it off nothing not even a click. I had lights...

the battery is totally to the point that not enough amps are being received from it,, so a jump won't even help, charge it completely ,, the lights and other items on the car require small amperage and 12 volts,, the starter requires a bunch of amps to turn it over, after you do that ,, check the alternator you can use a meter on the battery posts with the car running, and should have a reading of 13.5 to 14.5 volts
