It can be faulty wiper motor or blown wiper control fuse.

Do you hear any kind of noise when you starter the wiper function. If yes then fuse is ok, but issue is wiper motor.

If no movement at all and no noise then its blown fuse or shorted/loose wiper control wiring: -----

Gregory, I am so glad that I am not the only person who's windshield wipers are leaking fluid. I think that a rock must of hit my wipers and that is why they are leaking. Hopefully, getting them replaced will fix the problem for me and you.

Repair wiper linkage

Most likely the spline is stripped where the wiper blade connects to the linkage. All I do is insert a wire ( soft metal, like bailing wire) between the wiper arm and the linkage and tighten down the nut. But if the linkage doesn't move, then the linkage set has to be replaced. I have yet to find replacement parts for these. Salvage yard is your best bet.

The driver's side windshield wiper just stopped moving on my 1993 Geo Metro. The other one still works fine, but the one on the left side feels as though it has become disconnected. It swivels freely...

In your car, a single wiper motor powers a linkage that drives both your windshield wipers. However, joints in that flexible linkage can fail. When that happens, one of your wipers will not longer operate properly. If the linkage has broken completely, the wiper will act like you've described--it'll swivel easily by hand because it's no longer connected to the linkage.

On this car, your wiper motor should be under the hood, sticking out of the firewall. If you're not sure which is your wiper motor, have someone turn on the wipers while you listen and watch. It should be easy to spot the motor, even if you can't quite see what it's doing.

Disconnect your battery, and then loosen the bolts holding your wiper motor in place. Once the bolts are loose, pull it *gently* out of its hole. It probably won't come out all the way, as it will be attached to either one or two linkages, and you run the risk of bending them if you yank on the motor too hard. Once you can see the shaft of the wiper motor, have an assistant move the problem wiper by hand so you can see what's going on. Did the linkage slip off the wiper motor shaft, for example, or is the problem closer to the wiper arm? This observation should start to help you figure this out.

If, in fact, the linkage is bad, then the only solution is to replace it. First, remove one or both wiper arms, depending on whether you have one unified linkage or a small linkage for each wiper arm. You'll be left with little rotating stubs at the wipers. These are most likely bolted in place with external bolts. Take those off and gently push the linkage back into the cavity. You should now be able to pull the linkage out through the opening where the wiper motor was installed. It may require some creative positioning, but it should come out. If, by chance, the linkage won't fit through this hole, you may be able to get it out by removing one or more of the air intake screens and getting the linkage out through those passages.

Installation is the reverse of removal. You may wish you had very little hands to get the linkage bolts properly hooked up to the wiper motor.

One further tip: If you live near a "pick-a-part" salvage yard, which is a great place to find an affordable used linkage for this car, you can practice the linkage removal process on a dead car before trying it out on your own.

Wipers on my 1985 Dodge Ram Charger don'm move. they are at a up position. I could hear the wiper motor on.

this sounds like an arm poped off the linkage, see if you can move the wipers by hand if you can then linkage poped off, remove the cowl and look at the linkage you may need to replace the linkage some cars you can buy just one linkage arm instaed of the complete unit and also some part stores sell the plastic bushing to replace worn one on linkage and it just pops on,

My rear windshield wiper stopped working on my 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe. I can hear the motor working but when we replace the motor it still wont work.

My 2005 tahoe did the same thing. I also bought a new motor, which did not fix. I discovered there was a bad ground. Instead of searching for bad ground, just install a short length of stranded wire with crimp terminals between a wiper motor mounting bolt and a rear glass latch assy mounting bolt to restore good grounding to the wiper motor.

Need to know how to install the RH wiper linkage in a Nissan 200SX. I know how to remove the wiper arms and plastic cover below the windshield. Just need to know how to install the linkage with out...

The wiper cam actuator the cam is made to prevent damage to the motor by using a spring to allow it to slip if the wipers are stuck or frozen to the wind shield the spring stretching causes the wipers to stop in the middle of the window not hard to replace but does require you to do a timing procedure it should come in the box if not ill give you the basics get the new part remove both wiper arms careful the windshield is under the black plastic and I've seen other break the windshield taking the wiper arms off a battery post puller is the best way to remove , remove the cowl plastic piece you will see the cam gold/silver in color remove the one torx head screw then install new one rotate clockwise 2 times should spin freely then spin counter clockwise should stop look at where it is touching this area should have a 4mm gap the wiper motor has to be in the intermittent position prior to this turn key on put wipers in intermittent let motor spin then when it stops shut the key off then install cam.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

Wiper problem 2002 ford explorer. Motor energizes, but wipers won't move unless you give them a "shove". How do you access the wiper drive system ? Thanks

it is problem with linkage of motor , you have to lubricate it then try once, but the motor is gone weak so it not pushing that linkage, you just try with lubricating that linkage that connected to wiper motor to wiper arm, if it work you saved your money or do replace the motor assy.
