No,not unless you want problems

Drop Pan,Clean,Change Filter

If it does not slip-- you can change it 3 or 4 times,
a couple days apart-- if your a perfectionist

That is assuming your doing it yourself

You change trans & power steering every 3 years
or leave your check book handi

2005 Chrysler Town and Country. Noticible transmission whine when cold. Noise goes away after driving a few miles.

This may be caused due to low trany oil, check the level with engine warm and running and on level surface, these tranys are none for being bad, you may what to try a bg trany flush this may help, look up on the web about bg trany flushes, we use this machine and it does wonders, this helps alot but cant make a miracle happen, but ita helped alot of people with niose and not shifting or slipping its a 50/50 shot, hope this helps you.

i would try a bg trany flush on this first, you may have a sticking solenoid for the overdrive, it may not be opening or closing all the way, google bg trany flush and read a little about it, we use this machine and it does wonders sometimes,

When the preform the transmission service they will drain you transmission of its ATF fluid an replace it with new fluid. It is essentially an oil change for your transmission.

Lots of forgein car dealers say no but ive own and service nissan toyota and i dont change the fluid because you never get all the old oil out and then you mix new and old, what we do is called a trany flush done with a bg flush machine and is done every 30,000 miles unless its syntheic trany oil then at 100,000 miles, the flush is done with a cleaner and then a conditioner and removes 100% of the old oil. hope this helps.

Overdrive does not work if i put another trans in will it fix it

If the trany fliud is full then i would say yes replace the trany,be sure to flush out all the cooler lines and the cooler itself. if your useing a used trany make sure to install a new front and rear seals and also replace the filter and pan gasket, good look.

Should i change my transmission fluid, i heard it could damage it and cause it to go out?

its a 1999, have a bg trany flush done, this is done with a cleaner added to fluid, then a machine is used, it hoohs up to line of trany, it then flushes out 100% of the old fluid, this is the best way, also trany oil should be changed every 30,000 miles.hope this is helpful, also check out there website,@ www.bg.com for more info.

1984 celebrity 53,000 yes 53,000 miles. went in and got trany serviced.two days later,no gears no reverse.take back to trany shop that serviced it and no metal filings no sign of trouble in outer section...

If the trans shop cant figure it ouit, find another trans shop. Did they "FLUSH" it, or just replace the filter and the fluid. If it was sludgy in the trans pan and they "Flushed" it. you may have a valve or pressure regulator valve stuck.

Could be just a varnished valve body or a stuck valve, have a BG trany flush with the cleaner and conditioner done, that will clean and fix any stuck components in trany,I ve had could luck with this machine, find a garge in your area that does BG TRANY FLUSHES, hope this helps,
