I have a clicking sound coming from the area of my odometer, odometer and speedometer are working fine but find the noise to be irritating. Could it be the cable from the tranny is sticking?

Usually if the cable is bad enough to click, the speedo will jump a little with each click. Get passenger to lie on floor with section of rubber hose. Stick one end in ear and poke other end around under dash to try to locate sound.

I have a 97 vw jetta and my starter keeps dieng

What, exactly is dying and you have your answer. Some less expensive replacement starters are actually not rebuilt, but rather repaired. This leads to short life and leads one to think something else is wrong.

Be sure that your ground is connected well...

There is a clicking in center counsel and battery keeps dying

one more thing if you are getting autozone alternators, make them test it for you before you leave the store remember 13.25 plus volt
you should be seeing around 15 to 16 volts that will taper down thru the internal regulator

Heater in dash makes clicking noise, stopped no heat

The clicking noise you are hearing is the temp door actuator. It is located in the center of the dash. If you look behind the radio from the Passenger side of the van you will see a white square box with a black or green connector in it. Remove the connector and then remove screws that hold the actuator in place. Install a new actuator and reconnect the wire connector. This should take care of your problem and your heater will be fixed. I hope this was helpful.
