Starter issue When I try to start my 2001 Ford Focus I get a clicking sound and it will not turn over I tryed to replace the starter but still didn't help what can I do to find out what is wrong! THxs

Have u connected ground wire on engine and chassis and the clicking is a relay trying to make a circut

only two things left to do
1.- Clean and tighten battery ports (+ , -)
2.- ask for someone to help you, while you are trying to start it someone else give a few hits to starter, if second step helps to start it then it is the starter, hope this helps good luck!

dead battery? do lights work? 12 volts at battery terminals? If yes, clean terminals. If lights work, may need starter.

the two wire at the starter are in a plastic sleeve that seperates them it could be melted inside

sounds like voltage regulator failed on the generator, id have the charging system checked out. ;)

The starter is no good. The indicator of that is the inconsistent turning over you are describing. I would replace and you should be all set. I had same issue with my old 1996 Taurus.

if the battery is ok there could be one of two problems have you tried the spare key? it may be a problem with the immobiliser look at the red light near the time clock it should go out when atempting to start. second try tow starting or bump starting you may have a faulty starter motor do not try this to often or you could damage the cat. do you get any noises when trying to start such as a clicking ? this would indercate faulty solinode on starter hope this helps
