Question about Ford Fiesta
My fiesta which is still under it's 3 year warrenty has been making internal audible sounds of 3 pings [ like an alarm for the fuel tnk getting low as an example] intermitantly. I might drive the car for 100 miles before it goes off hten it goes off after a minute then 3 minutes etc. The garage have no idea what it is as there are no indicators/ lights that come onto the dashboard. They now have the car and are driving it daily with a compuer linked into it wth a man ready to connect the computer to diagnose whatwhere it is coming from. They have driven it for approx 350miles now and it hasn't gone off I said to keep it another day as I've driven it for 500 miles one time before it went off. I'm now realy frustrated that they are using such an antiquated mehtod to register the fault. Please, please, please does anyone out there have any ideas as this FORD garage is a waste of space so far. Many thanks in advance.

you are losing coolant, either through a leak or out the tailpipe. if there is a green or orange puddle on the ground where you generally park the car it is a leak. Someone is going to have to put the car up on a lift and track down the source of the leak. If your exhaust tends to be whitish, and sweet smelling then you are losing coolant through a breach between the cooling and combustion systems. Pull the oil dip stick out and remove the oil fill cap. If there is a foamy residue on the stick or the bottom of the cap then your coolant is getting into your lubrication system and that is no good either.
In any event this needs immediate attention or you will be stranded somewhere with a baked engine.
