Question about 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan

Blower motor only works on high.

The control for the air conditioner and heater when you want to select the fan speed it will only work on high. Just need to know where this part is located on the 2002 Grand Caravan sport. Can't seem to find a manual on-line or a place that sells parts with a picture of the part so I can see what it is I'm looking for.

My ac/heater only worked on high, then the other day that quit on me. So we tried replacing the resister and it didn't work. Someone suggested testing the relays and that was fine. So I am on here looking on how to replace the blower motor but I cannot find anything on replacing the blower motor, pictures, diagrams nothing. Unless there is something else I could try? Also I have a 2002 Dodge Caravan Sport, not Grand Caravan in case that makes a difference.

You can go to Alldata.com to subcribe to the factory manual, but you need the blower motor resistor, a dealer item. And typically its located by the blower mounted to the blower housing.

There is also a wire harness that can short out. It is a $40.00 part from the dealer. Try replaceing the wire harness that leads to the resistor.

SOURCE: the front heater/air conditioner blower stopped

It can be the blower relay,or the blower motor itself

How do you know if your blower resistor is bad?

Unlikely a blower motor resistor problem. If the resistor is faulty. the fan speeds will not work/fail on the lower speeds. High speed will normally always work. If the fan is non operational suspect a fan motor issue.Bad fan motor/switch/wiring to it

Heater / air conditioner fan control doesn't engage fan. Previously, it only worked in high speed.

I would replace the blower motor resistor first then see if that corrects this. The resistor is located next to the blower motor under the dash.

AC and Heater fan will only work on high speed, all fuses good. any ideas thanks, Dave

When the blower fan will only work on high speed setting this means the fans speed control resistor is burned out, when it fails the fan defaults to high speed only. The fan resistor is located next to the fan and held into the cooling air duct by 2 screws near the blower motor. The part is fairly cheap and easy to replace.

My blower fan only wrks on high. is there 2 separate fuses?

The blower fan only working on high is caused by only one thing, that is a defective blower motor speed control resistor, the resistor is located next to the blower motor in the air ducting, replace it and the problem is solved.

Fan motor problem

usually its the heater resistor that causes that. find it and check it out, this controls all fan speeds. its under the passengers side glove box, take off wiring then remove 2 screws and then it will drop out.

Heater fan only works on "high speed"

All cars are designed with a blower fan motor that pushes air through the ventilation system. This air is processed by a series of vents to direct the air to various positions. Example: heater, air conditioner and defrost modes. Most blower motors are power by a basic electrical circuit that utilizes a multi resistor or a solid-state resistor to control different fan speed modes (low, medium low, medium and high). If the resistor malfunctions it may lose one or more of the lower fan speed settings.

Blower motor doesn't work and has no power to it

Check the blower multispeed control resistor pack is not faulty.
The resistor pack is usually located in the air ducting, in the blower fan airflow.
Basically, +12v power is supplied (via fuse) to the fan speed control switch, which then passes via the selected speed control resistor, to the fan motor. Often a interface relay is used to switch the blower motor high current.

Fan motor switch on 98 jeep cherokee only works on high

In many cases this is the result of the blower motor resistor having gone bad. They are often located in the housing that holds the blower motor but I cannot say 100% for sure with the Jeep Cherokee.
