2007 dodge caliber rt slap stick put new tires on 3 months ago driver side front tire is worn cant let off wheel car pulls bad to the right side of the road

The popping could be from a bad CV axle joint, or a bad wheel bearing. Better get checked, sounds very worn. Raise the wheel on a jack and watch for play. Grab wheel at 3 and 9 o'clock, and shake back and forth-watch for play. Wheel bearing? CV joint -is boot still good? Ball joints at bottom of wheel attaching point to the control arm-check this for play, too.

My sunfire is throwing code p1870. can it throw that code w a rigged shifter cable linkage

No rigging the shifter won't pop this code. It is an internal problem. There are 2 types of transmissions that went in these. If your trans is not slipping look to replace the valve body. If it does slip. Think about if the car is worth another transmission or rebuild. A rebuild is about $2500. Includes R&R of transmission.

My 2003 ford focus made a pop sound after traveling 40 miles will turn over but wont start

Almost sounds like you broke a timing belt. Pop distributor cap off and have someone crank engine while you watch to see if rotor turns. If rotor doesn't move you have a broken timing belt.
