SOURCE: 1994 ford explorer 4 wheel drive not working

Go to the engine compartment where the relays are located with the fuses. Check or replace the 4 wheel auto engage relay , maybe is not working. Is very clearly mark, I believe is the top right one looking at the bost front front of vehicle to the back. There is a diagram drawing of each relay in the cover, so you can't go wrong.

SOURCE: 1994 ford ranger 4x4 hubs make grinding/clicking noise after taken out of four wheel drive

I think yours has the automatic locking hubs that slide over the the rotor hub. If this is the case than what has probably happened is a u-joint has gone bad and wiped out that auto hub.

Be prepared for some sticker shock on those hubs. they are not cheap. The usual fix for this is to replace the front axle ujoints and what ever hub is making the noise, hopefully just one.

remove the wheel-remove the brake calliper-- the rotor will be held on by the wheel or will have counter sunk screws that you will have to remove. Check with the new rotor first as it may be a complete hub assembly in which case the whole hub has to come off or be replaced.

Im in the rocess of puting new brake pads and rotors on a 1994 ford explorer 4 wheel drive and cant get the old rotors off can you tell me an easy way to get them off?

Sometimes this would require a little "elbow greese"lol. If you have correctly taken everything off then try spraying some penatrating lube on the studs, front, and back of the rotor.

4 wheel drive 1991 f-250 to remove the Hubs to get rotors turned

pretty much the same as 2 wd.revove the outer hub I think it is held on with 6 allen head bolts.remove the inside snap ring (looks like a piece of thick wire) then you can slide the hub out,be sure to take note of the order they came out.remove the snap ring from the axle. The rest is basically the same as I described for the 2wd except you will have a large nut then a lock type washer and then another large nut in behind it remove these and take the rotor off
