Does it sound like the noise the turn signal makes? Does the noise change if you change the speed of the blower motor? Do all the function of the heater work (defrost, vent, floor, recirculate, fresh air, hot, cold)?

SOURCE: car wont start...sometimes

Sounds like a bad starter solenoid, usually cheapest and easiest to replace the starter and solenoid as a unit. It is always best to check for power between the solenoid and the starter with a test light, if the solenoid clicks but the test light doesn't light up you have found the problem in the solenoid.

you can pull the valve covers and inspect the rocker arms, but you may have a bad main or rod bearing. im leaning toward the main bearing being spun, at least.

SOURCE: there is a ticking noise

It could be a relay clicking under the dash due to a bad ground circuit somewhere in the vehicle. It would be best to have a professional put an ear to it.

Well, your description sounds like disk brake issue(s). There is a wear indicator that acts exactly like what you describe, if the pads are worn, they need replacement.
If pads are good, you may need "mechanic in a can" stuff that goes between the METAL parts of the pad and it's mounting. Look for rust, as that is a likely area. This goop does not go on surfaces that need to move against one another, those areas need high temperature grease, a small amount.

I have 05 Nissan altim. Sometimes when I start it it makes a loud ticking noise that sounds like it's coming from behind the glovebox & when it does this it takes off slow. Sometimes it will stop after...

Not likely, sounds to me like a bad Fuel Pump relay, that when operating correctly controls the fuel pump. Based on what the ECU tells it the amount of fuel it needs.

1998 Buick LeSabre when heat is off there is a loud rattling noise when heat is on the rattling noise goes away what is this

Something is stuck in your blower fan. There should be a access door behind your glove box. Drop your glovebox down out of the way, open the panel, there may be a filter for you to pull out, clean it all out, and re assemble.

Loud ticking noise when first staring, engine stalls sometimes when starting it unless I hold the gas pedal down

The TPS would be what I would do had that problem once myself solved the problem. as for the ticking noise sounds like a lifter is bleeding down as long as the noise goes away you will be ok. But may I suggest that if you are going to keep the vehicle for awhile longer you might want to have a set of lifters put in it.

Pound ticking noise when my 99 durango starts goes away after the engine warms up

The ticking noise could be a faulty hydrulic valve lifter. When last was the oil & filter changed, it coul be that the oil is thick and not going through to the lifters and when it warms up the oil is thin. It could be that the engine is need of an overhaul as 148.000 miles is 238.182 Kilometers and that is a hi milage.

My truck has a loud ticking noise inside the dash and under the hood. The truck continues to loose battery power when sitting as well. The ticking continues even when I remove the keys

First, I would have a dealer run the Vin# for your truck for the Cruise Control recall. If the recall was not performed it needs to be done. Unfortunately after some of the earlier recalls were done, people had problems with the 4x4 controls and brake lights.
If you can identify the Cruise Control and there is an add-on fuse disconnect the fuse and see if the ticking goes away.

In your case I would spend a little time to save money and use your hands to find the ticking relay.
Your fuse block should be under the dash or behind a kick panel. You will see some oblong or square relays. Feel them and unplug the ones that are ticking. Keep track of their position.

Under the hood are some black power boxes filled with relays and fuses. Do the same "Feel" test on them. When you unplug the "problem" relay the ticking noise will stop. Then the problem area will not work and you can investigate the equipment on that branch. Be it power windows, wiper delay, A/C,
power seat, and so on.

If you have a Diesel your Glowplugs have a timer which is very loud and should stop in less than 90 seconds. It definitely pulls power. Do a "feel" test on it. Your glowplug wires will lead you to it.

97 Merc Grand Marquise just started a loud

If sound comes from under the dash, it might be an hvac actuator that is having a problem? Sometimes you can put your hand on it and feel the vibration? Sometimes with a relay, you can do the same thing.

Loud ticking noise on startup

I would have you oil pressure checked. The oil pump or bearings could be going out. The lifter noise on this car usually will go away faster then 5 minutes. I think the noise is lasting a little to long.

ThenI start my engine it sounds like diesel and no power

how is the oil level and pressure?, how many miles on engine? is this a loud knock or rather a clatter/ticking noise? knock is engine rod or crankshaft bearings, clatter loud ticking is valve follower noise. how long before it (the noise) goes away?
