Question about 2000 Chevrolet S-10
I dont know if its a fluke or what, but the dash lights for speedometer and tach dont work, checked fuses, bulbs behind cluster, all good. now there is a green wire I didnt use on stereo plug in. I really dont think that has anything to do with it due to the fact I believe one of the power wires going to the stereo is for the lights, and the dimmer switch controls that wire I think. I have no wiring diagram on this unit. Im trying to get it repaired for my daughter,so she can see what speed she is going at night. Please help
You have to run a jump wire to you cluster when you pull the factory unit out the aftermarket units are wired just a little different find your illumination wire should be orange and make sure it is wired correctly you may have to tie it in to a different wire,,,, i did this on several gm trucks i cant remember which wire i had to jump it to but i belive i tied the amp and illumantion wires together and made it work your fuse will protect you from doing any damage if you should jump the wrong wire...
