Should be the 3rd on e up front on teh right side as you are looking at the engine. If its never had plugs and wires i woul do a tune up on it. Also the ignition coils are also know to go bad quiet often they should also be numbered.

What is the firing order for 1988 Buick Century 6cyl

The firing order for a 4-cylinder 2.2L Buick Century is: 1-3-4-2. The distributor rotates in a clockwise direction, with #1 plug wire located at the upper left of the distributor The firing order on a 3.1 v6 is simple. 1-2-3-4-5-6 See a diagram of the 3.1 and 3.8 here. http://www.2carpros.com/forum/1999-buick-century-spark-plug-firing-order-vt177159.html http://autorepair.about.com/od/enginefiringorders1/

try replacing coial packs, there should be 3 of them if v6 and 2 if 4 cylinder.if 4 cylinder they are quite dificult to remove because they are down near the transmition under car. 2 bolts per pack.be sure to retain proper firing orders.
