Fan problems for 1992 honda accord

A few months ago the fan would work off and on. it would run intermittently. and somedays it wouldn't come on at all. now it doesn't come on at all. i checked all the fuses. they're fine. somebody told me that the transistor may need replacing. that would be preferable to dealing with the blower motor. i have a manual, but it doesn't deal with troubleshooting for the transistor. and i'm not even totally sure where to find it. if its something i could trouble shoot and replace without a whole lot of complex tools, that would be great.

I also have a 1992 Honda Accord with about 238,000 miles on it. The blower motor today suddenly quite working. I went over to a friends house and we both looked at it. The fuses are ok, he then kicked the housing under the dash were the blower is and it started running again. I highly suspect the brushed in the motor are worn out and making intermittent contact. I changed one out several years ago in a 1991 Honda Accord and the motor was seal so it would not be practical to try and repair one. I priced one today at O,Reilly's for about $199.00 and one at Bumper to Bumper today for over $153.00 wow! I found some on Ebay a lot cheaper. I think we need to boycott these parts places for raping us with high prices! Back to the subject I think you will need a new or used blower motor I have never heard of a bad transistor.

Well, the blower motor doesn't have a transistor, and if it were something else then it would run on low or high.

the best option is to replace the blower motor.

What causes the interior blower motor to run & quit sporadically even with no A/C running?

Hi Milton, Sounds like another problem with the motor or the power supply to it. Check the connections first and then the motor. Regards John

AC/Heater Blower Fan in 1990 LS400 works intermittently

Due to the age of your vehicle, the brushes in the fan motor are worn out. you will have to replace the fan motor, it is not serviceable.

1988 lxi honda accord battery drains overnight

Just a couple problems I've had. dome light left on due to faulty door open switch, spot light charger or equipment left plugged or wired to battery, lately I thought I had a bad battery but I just need to clean the terminal connections. One more thing if your car is running you can pull the negative cable off the battery. If the car dies your alternator could be the problem. If you have a light in the trunk or under the hood you could pull the bulb out to make sure you don't have a faulty switch turning them on. These are kind of simple and that is the way I start out.

Intermittent fuel pump relay, need help I have a 1992 Honda Accord LX. I'm not gettng fuel pumped all the time. I suspect an intermittent fuel pump relay. The fuel pump was replaced 4 months ago.

try tapping on it a bit or banging on it, but before you do, let me tell you that you need a new fuel pump or the hose could have something in it blocking flow or something.

Heater blower's not working for 1992 honda accord

there is no transistor. since your fan doesn't work at all most likely it is the motor. if it was the Resistor it would only work on high.

92 honda accord intermittent crank but no start/ tranny issues

I know that early 90's Honda's had problems and in fact a recall on the distributor. Might want to replace the distributor. Inside of the distributor is a part called the igniter which is the ignition module and that is what normally goes out. I cannot remember if you have to replace the whole distributor to get the igniter or if you can just replace the igniter itself. Has been a few years since I have worked on one. hope this helps but if not please contact me. I'm not sure about the drive light flashing thing though, new one on me.
