Electric power steering may have a fault and should be driven carefully
to the dealership. And ask for alternate transportation while your car
is being fixed. I (suspect) steering angle torque sensor malfunction and
you will be getting a new electric.steering Column. About a day or two
down time dealer most likely will have to order the part.
The boot jammed problem I am not real sure if I understand what you are saying. If you mean that the door will not unlock except with the remote, then the actuator rod from the door lock to the key hole has more than likely came loose inside the door.

Unfortunately there are certain things that only the dealer can do with the tools that they have spent thousands of dollars on. They have them to help people in this particular situation. I use dealer information on a regular basis because sometimes problems can be very hard to repair when it comes to sensitive electronics. This is an option that you have to avoid more expensive outcomes. Hope this helps, good luck!

I had a similar problem. I noticed one of my door handles (passenger side) had a little key engraved on it with a small slot under it. I inserted my key into that slot to pry the cover out. Underneath was a hidden keyhole which fit the pathfinder key perfectly and opened the passenger door. I could not find this solution in the manual - so simple - yet stressful.
