Question about 1993 Chevrolet C/K 3500

1 Answer

No clutch. I just changed the starter in my 1993 Chevy 3500 Pickup. Fired up first turn, but now I have no clutch. I am by no means a pro at this, maybe a novice at best. What did I do? By the way, there is clutch fluid.

The small wire from the ignition switch goes to the small post on the starter solenoid. The large wire from the battery goes to the large post on the starter solenoid.

When u turn the key over the truck will start and and when u let off of the key it dies it is a 200 model chevy 6.5 diesel

Sounds like bad solenoid or wiring to solenoid. Possible ignition switch but not likely. Check wiring to solenoid, if looks good replace solenoid. Unfortunately it's mounted on top of starter meaning starter has to come out to change.

My 1993 Chevy 350 fuel injected pickup just quit

Check to see if there is any power getting to the fuel pump, if there is 12 volts going to the fuel pump then replace the pump, if there is no voltage present, the problem could be the fuel pump relay, a fuse, or a break in the wiring.

I am working on a 1993 chevy silverado 3500 dually. While driving, the transmission will periodically shift down to 2nd gear and remain there. I have checked for loose wires, connectors and sensors and...

I had a 1994 chevy pickup that did the same thing and it turned out to be the shift solenoids. Try pulling the codes. My codes lead me straight to the problem.

1993 niss p/u 5 spd won't always start using clutch or interlock

i have a friend that had the same problem with his 5 speed. it ended up being a sensor that tells your vehicle that the clutch is pressed in. might want to check that first before you think of changing the starter

1993 chevy pickup, won't start, just clicks when you turn the switch. We know it's not the battery, or the starter. we have had them both tested.

Battery, Starter and Solenoid...those are all the parts. Got to be one of them...likely the solenoid if the starter checks out good. Easily jumped by someone with a little mechanical knowledge. Corner garage can check it in a few minutes.

No clutch on the Chevy 3500 Pickup after successfully changing the starter.

If it had 2 bolt studs with nut on the other end ando line going to the top of the transmission it is the slave cylinder and you have to line the rod inside to the fork inside the bellhousing if this is on the bleed the clutch cylinder and the pedal should return to normal. Be sure to check for leaks in this line even a little leak can cause you not to have a clutch pedal. Also check inside the cab behind the clutch pedal where the rod comes through the firewall and make sure it is not leaking. If the fluid is low be sure to fill it with DOT 3 brake fluid.
