Window switch problem

The front window switches for the front passenger side dont wont engage

I too have a front passenger power window switch problem in my 199 Ford Explorer. The problem is this:
The front passenger power window switch on both the driver's door & the passenger's door fail to lower or raise the passenger power window. My glitch is that the power window motor only works when the outside temperature is less than -20 degrees Celsius (-4 degrees F). When I try to lower the window in warm weather, I notice the electrical gauge registering a current draw / load, but the window doesn't move. When its cold, the window moves freely.

What would cause the power window motor to only work in cold temperatures? My mechanic insists on charging me for an inspection (a reasonable request), but he suspects it'll take him a long time to troubleshoot such an unusual problem. there's current to the motor, the tracks are well lubricated, the circuits are fine. Mechanically & electrically the unit seems fine.

    Any ideas???

what do you mean by that? you can't get them to move and you don't hear them clicking? or, the window doesn't go up and down?

There is an internal breaker in the motor this is a thermal protection switch. it sounds like unless it is very cold out the heat (ambient + electrical load) is too much for the switch to take, if durring the failure you have power and ground to the motor you shouldd replace the motor ( the breaker is internal and not servicable, the high amp draw from the motor is the cause of the whole failure) i would charge 1 to 1.5 hours for this service, diag replace and verify.

If the passenger side switch is bad it wont complete the circuit to operate the window. Recommend trying a known good passenger switch.

Do the individual door switches work their windows? If so, it would be the driver's side door switch, the master switch, that is bad.
The fact that one window works off the driver switch means that power for the windows is at least getting to the master switch, and that the ground for all power windows is good. If the other door switches work, it is just the master switch, not a wiring problem.

Check the wires on the driver's door between the door and the post. A break in a wire will affect the passenger side.

more than likely one of the switches are bad (down side of switch works but up side of switch dont) being as the switches are wired together if one goes bad other one won't work either take the switch out one of back doors should be same as front passenger door put rear switch in front passenger door if works then u know front door switch is bad if it doesn't then drivers door switch is bad
u replaced window regulator Did that come with motor too??? if not check to see if motor is good
there is two wires going to motor cut isolation back on wires and using some jumper wires attach one wire to positive terminal of a 12 volt battery attach other wire to negative terminal of battery window should move up or down reverse connections and window should move other way
