    all bellhousing bolts are out starter un hooked linkage disconnected when you pull it out of clutch back tran mount hits a frame drivers side

You have to loosen & drop one side & swing
out of way & support the engine to remove trans

How do you add transmission fluid to a 2007 VW Jetta 2.5L?

There is a brass colored plug facing skyward on the left (US driver's) side at the rear of the 6 speed automatic transmission. This plug is removed with a Torx tool (I cannot recall but is in the range of a #40). This plug provides a direct access to the case of the transmission and if you can find a suitable small funnel (I made an adapter) with a small piece of fuel line, etc. you can introduce ATF into the tranny. The transmission holds about 5 liters of special VW fluid. All the transmission experts I have talked to say to use the VW fluid. It is expensive but less expensive than a new valve body, etc. There is a overflow tower in the drain plug. I changed the fluid by dropping the pan. There is a magnetic plate trap in the pan. It will be covered with metallic particles. VW is dead wrong about "fluid for life". Change it at 80K to 85K miles.

I am going to swap out transmission in an 03 oldsmobile alero tranny. What is the easiest way to do.

You will need something to hang the engine because the subframe will need to be removed to get the transmission out.I can give you a step by step if you want.

How to remove 2006 ford focus zx4 manual transmission

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Steering column shaft bolt Battery and tray Air intake assembly Resonator Gearshift cables from the transaxle Gearshift cables from the bracket Hydraulic clutch line from retaining bracket Heated Oxygen Sensors (HO2S) and Catalyst Monitor Sensor (CMS) connections
  3. Support the engine using Special Tools 303-290.
  4. Remove or disconnect the following:
    NOTE Matchmark the subframe to the chassis.

    Rear engine mount and mount bracket Reverse lamp switch Upper transmission to engine bolts Tire and wheels Engine roll restrictor Tie rods from the knuckles Lower control arms from the wheel knuckles Stabilizer bar from the strut Power steering lines from the steering gear
  5. Support the subframe with a suitable lifting device.
  6. Remove the six subframe bolts and lower the subframe from the vehicle.
  7. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) Right hand halfshaft from the transmission and hang securely aside Left hand halfshaft from the transmission and hang securely aside
  8. Loosen, but do not remove, the starter mounting bolts
  9. Disconnect the clutch hydraulic line.
  10. Secure the transmission to a jack or suitable lifting device.
  11. Remove the 10 transmission-to-engine bolts.
  12. Pull the transmission rearward until the input shaft is clear of the pressure plate, then lower the transmission from the vehicle.

How to remove transmision

you can register for free and access the shop manual for your car there. The procedure to do this is quite lengthy and will require your car to be aligned if you remove the subframe from the vehicle. If it's a manual transmission, and you have a lift, you don't need to remove the subframe, you should be able to take it out by simply turning it the correct way. The manual tranny is light. If it's an automatic, you can go either way but it's easier to remove the subframe in my opinion. The automatic is much heavier.

How to install transmission solenoid in a 2001 pontiac bonneville 2.8

The solenoids are under the side pan on the transmission on the drivers side. You will have to go through the drivers side fender well. Remove the wheel, brake caliper, spindle, take the rack and pinion loose, install engine support, place jack under left side (drivers side) of subframe, remove subframe mounting bolts, loosen (do not remove) right side subframe mounting bolts, lower left side of subframe 4 to 6 inchs, go to engine support and lower engine and transmission down just enough so that transmission side pan can be removed. you need a haynes manual.because some new cars dont have dip stick to check tranny have to locate a check fill plug on automatic transmission differential.its located on the right side.front of drive axle.for volkswagon you got buy the tool to squirt fluid in tranny.still get a manual it will show you place to put tranny oil.

in 2003 there shouldn't be a tranny dipstick? there is a fill plug on the front behind the metal shield(bolted to transmission).it should take just under 3L. OF VW TRANNY FLUID

This is the PCS (pressure control solenoid) in the transmission. A very common problem with those, be sure to get the newest version GM part when replaced (last time I got one they were on the 3rd version). If not replaced this will ruin your transmission rather quick. Usually around 50 for the part, but labor can be much higher since it is located under the side cover. Hard shifts when warm is the dead givaway, but I would have the trans scanned to confirm. It is such a common issue there should have been a recall, IMHO. Once you get the side cover off it is an easy repair, since you don't have to remove the valve body and the side cover gasket is re-usable. You may have to drop the subframe and lower the engine/tranny assembly to get the cover off, tho. Good trannys otherwise, best of luck...
