Install three back spark plugs 2004 pontiac bonneville

there is a tool that replaces the dog bone upper motor mount that allows you to roll the engine forward which tilts the engine to give you more access to the rear plugs. you can also remove the upper mount and using a large bar roll the motor forward and block into place will do the same.

My 93 GTP,3.4 When put in reverse to leave my yard has a sum what of a hard bang and shifts hard.I replaced the dog bone bone but thats not the problem. Would a worn CVC jiont do this? What could it

Cv joints usually knock or click, especially when turning. Open the hood, start the engine and while looking at the engine from the drivers seat put foot on brake and shift to reverse. if the engine jumps, must have a bad mount. also may try giving it a little gas while holding brake to make sure. also try it it drive as well. chances are its the trans mount going bad.

note: if there are any oil leaks that are getting the mount wet it will continue to fail.

How do i get to my plugs in the back i can reach them but its hard is there an easier way to reach plugs...

if its a transverse motor such as my 1993 pontiac gp...you unbolt dog bone motor mounts on the engine side and make sure you leave the car in park ...pull car forward towards you and you can lock it in place with the eye holes on the dog bones just use the bolts from the mounts...bam ....oh also if you are a big guy like me u should also take out the alternator gives you alot more range of motion rather than contorting yourself to fit...trust me i got bruises on my arms from not taking it off...

I have 1994 saturn sl i found a motor mount on the bottom of the engine no bolt in it it looks like a dog bone i think it is missing a mount i would like a picture where it mount on the motor thank you...

There is a dog bone mount at each end of the engine. If it is on the bottom of the engine, something is totally out of whack. The bottom mount is under the transmission and does not look like a dog bone. I am assuming you must be writing the about passenger side, where the serpentine belt is. Remove the right front wheel, put the car on jack stand and remove the plastic service panel behind the wheel. The bolt hole where the dog bone bolt goes will be evident, or there will be a broken bolt. If the dog bones have not ever been changed this would be a time to do that and maybe the belt tensioner too. The other one is under the battery tray, both are fairly easy to replace, assuming you do not bust a bolt off.

What is the dog bone

It's an engine mount. Usually it will be one at top/front engine and one onside /bottom engine. They are easily replaced, just be sure to take the weight off the mounts with a jack.

How to replace back spark plugs ,how do you tilt engine to get to them.

if it's a 3.1 or 3.4 (essentially the same engine; not sure of the 3.8), unbolt the dog bone motor mounts on the top front, swing out of the way, then hook a ratchet strap to the loop on the block or where the motor mount attached and go around the front bumber and hook to the lower control arm or anything else stable not associated with the motor. ratchet the block forward enough to get your hands in to replace; it'll still be tight but that's how i've accomplished it on mine and a 95 grand prix (with the 3.1).

Location of motor mounts on 94 saturn sl1 where are they and how do you replace them? (all of them) or at least the major ones

There are four total mounts.

1. Upper engine mount located on the passenger side of the engine. Get this at the dealer, aftermarket, especially Anchor brand are garbage.

2. Lower engine mount, often refered to as a "dog bone" mount because of its shape. This one is located on the lower passenger side. You'll have to remove some splash shields to get to it. Aftermarket is OK.

3. Upper transmission mount, also refered to as a "dog bone" mount. Located under the battery.Aftermarket is OK.

4. Lower transmission mount. Located under the transmission. As with the top engine mount, dealer is better quality.

The two dogbone mounts usualy last a very long time, its the others that fail over time. Especially the upper one.
