Question about 2002 Jaguar X-Type

Open Question

I have codes P0102, P0112, P0118, P0335, P1229, P1646 AND 7, P1582, P1632, and P1236. Car is in limp mode, does not rev beyond 3000 and sometimes would not start, replaced a broken pipe from trapet

I travelled a long gravel road for two hundred kilometres before the fault appeared. Car moves very slowly if you press hard on the accelerator, it improves slightly with a light press of the pedal.

When this problem happens I would check the timing.  As your question was not fully reproduced, I would appreciate a more detailed description of your problem.  It could be the onboard computer has a fault and you are getting warning lights and the more obvious symptoms as a result.  Michael

SOURCE: tick over problem

Sounds like it could be a bad EGR valve, the trans fault codes of p1775 is nothing really, it could even be the fact that you are putting the car in gear at 3,000 revs.
If this is an intermittant problem then it goes right back to the egr valve. They clog and stick and will cause bad/rough idle issues especially on start up and also will cause spiratic idle problems.

Check the TPS sensor. Sounds like it has a broken winding in it. (Can't see EGR being a problem on such a new vehicle.)

Merc vito 2001 engine goes into limp mode but resets when turned off

The first thing that need to be done here is to have the fault code(s) read that are recorded in the computer's memory (PCM) when this happens. Do not keep driving the car or you will damage the engine and/or the transmission.

Limp ModeEngine starts, idles fine but will; not rev over 3000 rpm and does the on/off hunting thing at 3000

Year make and model? Any codes? Engine and transmission codes will cause a limp mode.

P1582 jaguar s type

the 1582 code is a flight recorder code meaning that at some point one of the following has happened: the inertia switch has been triggered, throttle body signal has triggered the limp mode, the engine starts but stumble and then shuts off,or engine fail to start,or a engine stall has occured. This is what causes this code.If the issue was resolved, clear the code becuae it can become permanent and although the car will run fine the code will be there without a mil showing.

Navara d40 has no power wont rev more than 3000 rev thanks

Sounds like your vehicle is in limp mode. Check for faults with a fault code scanner at a local auto parts store. Resetting the fault will fix the limp mode, but not whatever caused your vehicle to initiate limp mode.

S TYPE 2001 Wont go beyong 3000 Revs

No, You have a high pressure fuel system. Things are not that simple anymore.
You need to get it checked properly as the fault is in the engine managment system.
The limp mode is the car protecting itself from you and allowing you to get home. Thats it.
