SOURCE: engine blowing oil from oil filler cap

I had the same problem. I changed the pcv valve and checked the hose. It still did the same thing. Then I checked the metal tubing that the hose connects to and found it was full of hardened gunk. I sprayed PB Blaster into the tube let it soak for awhile. Then took an old choke cable, put it on a drill and ran it into the tube like a drain snake. It took a while of doing this over and over but eventually got it cleared out. Now, no more oil all over the engine and hood compartment.

Normal, inspect the PCV valve if it seems excessive and you might have some blow by too.

SOURCE: My Granddaughter has a 2003 Honda Civic which has

Hi, its not good news im afraid by you describing that with the coolant cap off and revving the car causes the pressure to build up and push the water back out it sounds to me like the head gasket is on its way out, what you need to do is take it to a garage and dont have a compression test done you need to have a gasses test done, you can buy these yourself if you want to and what it does is this.

its a plastic tube with blue liquid inside it then you take the coolant cap off and place this in its place you then run the engine and rev it up then you squeeze the rubber at the end of the tube and it then sucks the air out of the coolant and through this liquid then if it detects gasses from the engine in the coolant then this turns the liquid green and this is then telling you that the head gasket needs changing.

please dont let it keep over heating as this will cause the cylinder head to warp and you would then need to get it skimmed to make sure its not warped, get the gasses test done as a compression test dont give you a true reading as the engine is not running when they do a compression test.

let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks

Still have crankcase pressure issues (pressure at dipstick and oil filler cap) after replacing oil trap.

Sounds like your engine has worn piston rings and that allows combustion pressure to "blow Bye" the pistons and pressurize the crankcase. In short you need an overhaul.

I have a bmw 330i 2006 and i have oil coming out of the oil filler cap thats on top of the engine what could be the problem because the cap it self looks fine and tight

You may be having problems with the crankcase pressure regulating valve (PCV). If this is clogged or malfunctioning, pressure can build up inside the engine and blow oil out the filler tube.

Presher out fill cap still have power and rus good 2.5 jeep

If you are getting pressure out of oil filler cap, check to make sure your PCV is working properly, if it is, then you are possibly getting blow by from worn piston rings

Gmc savana 2002 has lot air front oil cap

the PCV valve may be fine but what about the hose . It cab ne blocked up . Is the PCV valve connected up right . It is a one way valve and opens under vacuum ( when the engine is overrunning the throttle ). The extra air from the filler cap is an indication of excessive blow by in the combustion chambers past faulty/ worn/ broken rings.

Oil light came on. Stop the car and raised the hood and oil was every where. No knocking or anything. What do you think it is?

Probably a leaking head gasket or the oil filler cap was not secured. If it's the head gasket you'll need to take it to a mechanic, (unless you have the tools and the time to do it yourself). If it's the oil filler cap your in luck. Just secure it properly and your all set.

Would like to recharge my air conditioning on my 2001 nissian maxima that has 117,000 on it blows hot air when air conditioning is turned on.

You will need R134a, and a filler hose. Charge the system on the low pressure side, it should have a blue cap on the charge point.
Your filler hose will only fit the low pressure side, just in case the cap has been removed.
