The track bar and bearings in the intermediate shaft are notorious for failure. I've replaced the track bar 3 times in less than that many years until I finally got a 'good' one. For the intermediate shaft (between rag joint and steering box) buy a competition redesigned one. You can find them on the net for about $167.00. Pricey...but worth it. Especially if you're running oversized or factory oversized tires.
Now, if I could just find out why my heater diverter door slams shut for no reason and freezes me out I'll be all set.

HOW TO GET WESTERN SNOW PLOW TO GO LEFT AND RIGHT

Hydraulic fluid doesn't really freeze. When it does, we wouldn't be around to see it. You need to go threw electrical. Go to there web site and see if you can get a diagram for it. Old systems are fairly easy to go threw. Newer ones have PC boards. Older ones, the stick/switches go bad first. But it always wise to loosen, then tighten the nuts that hold wires first. Corrosion sets in because it isn't used for so long.

I have a fisher minute mount 2 plow for some reason it only goes to the right now , not up or left , no matter what button I press on the control it goes right .

Start by plugging everything in and pop the cover off the control part on the plow and check for magnetism on all 3 solenoids when you hit the various buttons on your plow controller. The pull should be very strong and noticable...a weak magnetic pull is likely just residual magnetism on your screwdriver. In my case, the S3 solenoid wasn't firing and that causes exactly what you're describing.

If your S3 isn't firing you can test the wiring by moving the S3 hot wire to the S2 solenoid. If your wiring is good the plow will misbehave in an entirely different way. Also get out your ohm meter and test the S3, if its good you should get 7 ohms on it.

You need to use the guide from Fisher and be methodical about it. Start at the plow and work your way backwrds towards the truck.

My fisher minuteman 2 plow will go up and left and right but will not go down

Most of those systems don't have a driven retraction on the piston. It is gravity feed back. There is a valve that is sticking or out of adjustment. http://library.fisherplows.com/?cat=38

I have a myers plow that i got a few years ago new and when i turn the blade to the left it the motor keeps runin even though the blade has gone as far as it can go. it also moves on its own and its like...

Sounds like you have an electrical problem with motor running all the time.1st thing i would check is the switch.make sure it is wired right and the switch itself is ok. as far as it moving on its own. could possibly
be a solonoid gunked up.or low on fluid

Hi, I have a 2000 dodge ram and when i plug my fisher plow up only one light works on the plow and one on the truck .when the plow is un hooked from the truck all the truck lighs work, and when i hook up...

There is a ground that is deteriorated in the harness. trace the ground lead back from the connection to your truck. Once you find the break, that should take care of your problem.

It is also possible to be a power lead, so check them also, but more often than not it is a ground.l

Hope this helps.

I just bought a 1986 chevy 1/2 ton with a fisher plow. I hooked up the plow and it won't go up or down, or left or right. The controls work, if I move the pistons on the valve body it still does'nt work....

un bolt the motor from the base, the pickup is just tin, they rot off and fall into the base. you may have valves stuck too, but if nothings moving and pumps running, it should labor BADLY
