#2 did what ? So it didn't drop rpm, then it
wasn't contributing much as the other were

You got a bad wire or module or whatever your car has

Check the injectors listen to them with a long screw driver

SOURCE: 2000 CIVIC System too lean Cylinder 3 and 4 misfire Deteced

  1. P0171: This means that the oxygen sensor has detected a lean air-fuel ratio. This can be caused due to a vaccuum leak or a problem in the HO2S circuit or the HO2S (Heated Oxygen Sensor) itself. (Bank one Sensor one). This is commonly located along the exhaust pipe. It could also be a bad Mass Air Flow sensor or a bad Engine Coolant Temperature sensor. Diagnostic checks will be needed to be carried out to be verified though
  2. Well as for the other codes, it means #3&4 cylinders are misfiring. It is a possibility that the P0171 code mite have caused the others to show up. I can be wrong though. But it is a strong possibility. If the air fuel mixtue is too lean indeed, mis-firing will occur, unless it is an actual electronic and not a mechnical problem. By the way, when these codes appear, how is the engine's performance. Does it remain the same or behaves poorly?

Hi, the 4.3 liters have an injection system on them that can leak and will show up as a misfire. it is common but elusive to find. you might consider taking the van to a repair shop to have the problem diagnosed and go on from there.

What could be causing cylinders 1 and 4 to misfire in my 2007 honda civic when coils and plugs were replaced and actually turned out to be working well?

Misfires can be pretty confusing, and frustrating screwing up your emissions system, O2 sensor etc.. Try using Techron (No substitutes) pour it in the fuel tank and drive. If you have an injection problem, it will clean it out. Sometimes a partially blocked injector will cause all sorts of issues. I have used Techron every 4 months for 30 years, and it is worth the money!

Have a compression test done on that cylinder. Sounds to me like the rings went bad on that cylinder.

P0304 honda civic

P0304 Cylinder no. 4-Misfire Detected

This means that a plug, wire to the plug, or a fuel injector is not firing on this cylinder, or the compression is dead on it (not likely).

#4 cylinder is misfiring in my 1997 toyota tacoma 4x4. Auto parts store put on machine and got this result. They say that it could be spark plug. Any Ideas. Looses power on mountain.

Possible causes for a misfire:
Spark plug
Spark plug wires
Weak or bad coil
Dirty or a bad fuel injector
Low compression in cylinder
This is a case of testing and process of elimination. Have them all tested to find out which one is the culprit. Change the plug and wire to a different cylinder, if the misfire happens in that cylinder, you'll know it's either the plug or the wire. Without doing any testing, it's hard to say what the cause is.

1998 Honda Civic engine replaced with engine H15B is it the right one

The only H15B I can find on the internet is a Japanese made piece of construction equipment. The proper motor for your civic would be:
KA4AT - 4 cylinder Auto transmission, 49 states.
KL4AT - 4 cylinder Auto Trans. California
KA5MT - 4 Cylinder 5 speed manual trans 49 states
KL5MT - 4 cylinder 5 speed manual trans. California.
The CA versions have more stringent emission standards than the other 49 states. The Honda engine #'s I've listed are stamped on the engine block. As u face the engine compartment standing in front of the car, the # should be next to a rubber plug (square shape) that is removed to time the engine, so look there for some ID.
