Can be loose battery connection,or weak starter motor/solenoid.Sometimes new battery even comes weak/faulty.Get the battery bench tested at local car garage.

When that light comes on, it is indicating charging system problem which could mean alternator not charging for one reason or another like loose belt, faulty alternator, or yes, bad battery or connection at battery, for example. First & easiest thing to do is check all your connections to battery, which you've probably done, and make sure they're tight & clean. Make sure belt driving alternator is good & tight, and in good shape. Now boost the vehicle to get it going & test voltage at battery, after you take cables off. My guess is in your case, the voltage will begin to go down, indicating a bad alternator, that will need to be replaced.

SOURCE: 2004 Chrysler Pacifica - Constant engine winding / whirring sound

If it sounds more like it's coming from rear of engine, that could be a possibility, and should be followed up,but if it's coming from front of vehicle area, I'd concentrate on your accessory drive belt . If it hasn't been changed in quite a while especially. That belt is routed around about 8 different pulleys,in,out, over, under, and it would lead me to believe it would be a good candidate for wear & noise that would increase as it wears more. I wouldn't try belt dressing as I'm not a lover of that stuff, only for emergencies. It may be as simple as spraying water on it to see if the noise changes or disappears, just keep your eyes back if engines running. They make what they call an audioscope, basically a set of headphones wired to an amplified probe, so it's easier to isolate the noise, perhaps a local garage has one, and can pinpoint it for you. Years back mechanics would use a long screwdriver or pipe up to their ear and poke around, but that's very dangerous, so I wouldn't recommend that. Your engine does have a timing belt too, and engines in the past have been known to produce that sound you describe from wear on it too. I'd go after that one as a last resort unless manual recommends it at certain interval.

05 pacifica only clicks once , wont start

Check to see if the headlights come on nice and bright, it so, then your battery of probably ok. If you get one click when turning the key, then it is probably you starter that is not working properly. If you are handy with tools, you can remove it and take it in to be checked.
You can also check it with a screw driver.

2005 Pacifica lights dashboard gauges etc. started blinking like a crazy light show inside the car. Car stalled & wouldn't start again. We jump started it and it started within minutes of the charge....

Charging system, Replace the alernator it shorting out. In order for a alternator to work the rotor create a magnetic flux this flux is what gives the battery it charge. In order to creat this flux which is a A/C current it needs to be a D/C current there in place is a wheatstone bridge or a half wave rectifier. now why the light show? light bulds do not know the difference from A/C to D/C .power is power to it. replace alternator.

My car would not start for 3 consequetive days and even with a new battery installed, it still died on me. I took it to the Chrysler dealership and they told me I needed to replace the Starter Relay and I...

You say you replaced the battery with a new one but it sounds like there is either a short or something is being left on to drain the battery. An interior light, brake light or just a short of some kind. You can check and make sure all lights go out after get out of the car, but someone with the correct meter has to check for a short or battery drain. Hope this helps a little.

My mechanic is saying I need to replace the alternator and battery in my 2007 Chrysler Pacifica. I only have 79000 miles -- isn't this a little soon for the alternator?

It is a little soon but not unheard of. If you start your vehicle and disconnect that battery does it DIE? If it does either the Alternator or the the voltage regulator is bad. If it doesn't then most likely it is just your battery, not common in one this new but surely possible.

Will not start battery and alternator is good will only start if jumped and shuts off while running after car is jumped started.

Make SURE battery and alternator are good because battery starts the car but car runs on alternator power once its started. If alternator is not putting out the power needed, car will die once the battery power is dead or removed.
