Question about 2006 Mercury Milan
When I turn the key to start the car everything goes dead!! I disconnected the battery for ten minutes then the car turned over and started right up!! Soon after starting it, the car died and started doing the same thing once again!! I checked with the diagnostic tester and it threw a U0100 code.

Remove the lugs at the battery. Clean the posts and the lugs - then reconnect. Your battery won't charge (and the jumpers won't work) largely because of a film on the + post and lug. If you live in a hot summer area, (Arizona) the problem is especially troublesome.

Might have key problem. If key has chip it isn't recognized first time. When you remove key and insert it again you get right recognition. That recognition is part of the anti theft stuff.
