SOURCE: how to change air filter 2006 colbalt ss

Its a pain but under your car are about 6 8mm bolts that you have to take off to get the filter out also you will have to take your driver front tire off to get the last few bolts to gain access to the air box there are 3 screws on the box that comes off and you can pull out the filter and put new one in and do the reverse.

SOURCE: 2007 Chevy Colbalt 2.2 engine P0446 Code is on.

Code P0446 is related to your vehicles evaporative emissions system. Often this is caused by your gas cap not being properly tightened.

Before running out and spending money on this issue be sure the gas cap is in good condition and make sure it's tight. (At least 2 or 3 turns after it begins to click)

Drive the car for a few days. If the check engine light doesn't turn off you will need to go to a repair shop who can scan and troubleshoot the problem.

Good luck.

How may I help you? Do you have your own scan tool (to look up or read codes)? If not Autozone will read Engine codes for free. Repair shops can start at $40.00 and go up to $120.00 per hour.

2006 Dodge Stratus, wouldn't shift had to drive home extremely slow, check engine light came on and checked codes got P0700

First p0700 is only a generic information code. If you haven't received another code you probably have one pending, have it scanned again. I would start by checking trans fluid level. I believe with the stratus you check you transmission with the car in neutral, at operating temp and on flat level ground with wheel chocks to make sure car doesn't move. fluid should be a nice red color and clean. If orange its probably burnt or in need of service, if black probably needs repairs. If that looks good depending on your code I would say a trans shift solenoid went bad. Keep me updated with that other code.

Jasper is the national leader for rebuilt engines.
Been around for a long time and offers a good warranty. try jasperengines.com They will ship the engine to your selected installer. Your other choice is a salvage yard for a "used" engine
Hope this helps

Yellow check engine light is on - is it OK to

as long as the light is not flashing, you should be good to go. you can also have a parts store scan the system. most parts store will do this at no cost. doing this would make sure nothing serious is going on.

P0355....Ignition Coil E Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction would suggest you need to replace your coil packs. Heat damages them after time and will eventually lead to misfire and very rough running motor especially when it's damp out.

P0700....Transmission Control System Malfunction

I would start researching the possibility of a bad ground, a loose main cable to the battery, etc. If the codes come back, the P0700 can be very serious and could require attention at a Transmission shop or dealership. There is a remote possibility that the codes are entirely unrelated.
