Question about 2008 Ford E Series Passenger

Open Question

2006 E250 van radio comes on by itself during night. kills battery. Replaced radio, no changes.

Radio turns on after van has been shut off, key removed. Might be twenty minutes later or hours later. Kills battery. Jump start and everything works as it should. Accessory power delay works as it should. Pull radio fuse at night and battery stays charged. Any Ideas?

SOURCE: fusible link in 1993 festiva

this is not a battery problem there is a short in the system. a low battery will never blow a fuse because in order to blow a fuse you have to excede the amprage rating and a short will do this look for a loose wire on the headlight harness or a bad connector........please rate this

I have the same problem - the radio and the lights for the power door locks stay on even when you take the key out and open then drivers door which is supposed to turn them off automatically. I have noticed that when you turn the key back to the accessory position and then off everything shuts down.

Hi Have you changed the battery lately ?? or did the battery need a jump start if not to both then you may have a blown fuse check them on the radio system also the radio has two power lines to it one keeps the radio with a supply when the key is turned off to keep the radio coded the other comes alive when you turn on the key in the ignition Best of Luck

Why does my 2001 Ford windstar van radio come on by itself long after its been shut off?

check to see if any of your doors are not turning on and off the interior lights. If this is the case one of the door switches may be contributing to your radio problem.

2006 kia sedona problems

Ancillary item, heater blower, radio etc can cause issues as can chafed insulation on the loom itself.
Use a car headlamp instead of a fuse to aid fault finding. When the short circuit is gone the bulb will be dim.

Battery light and abs light come on,van wont start

Sounds like the GEM is bad. This is a computer module behind the radio that controls all those things.

I have a 2001 ford expediton 4.6 4wd..2 days ago I went to turn off my car and the radio and that beeping sound when the key is in the ignition when the door is open stayed on and wouldnt go off. I turned...

Not the Key but the ignition itself. Replace teh ignition module where the key is inserted to start the vehicle and that should resolve the issue.

Nothing wrong with it. When you remove the key, it stays on for about 20 minutes. It gives you time to finish listening to your radio and roll up the window. Once the driver door is open, everything shuts off or if 20 minutes has passed.
