Question about Cars & Trucks
Hi there, I have an Audi a3 petrol 2004 reg with aprox 46k mileage. Have had issues with the engine management light and traction control light simultaneously coming on at random times, revs drop down to 50mph, not good when your on a busy dual carriageway and lorries on your tail! Have had diagnostic testing undertaken by Audi and they cannot find a fault. I am desperate to find out what is wrong as this happened 3 times on the way to work today. Any advice would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance

Go to AutoZone or Advance Auto Parts and have them scan the ECU (they do it for free, where a shop will charge you). They'll give you the codes, and you can post them here. Once you do that, I can help you narrow it down.

Try first unplugging battery cable for ten minutuse, to reset ECM, and do a scan again, there are too many unrelated error codes at the same time

I have a 1999 A6 2.8, and my car was doing the same thing. However, after spending about a $1,000.00 I took it to another dealership. they replaced the fuel filter, it was dirty from putting cheap 91 gas in the car. Once it was replaced the car ran like new. I had to replace it around 80,000 miles. Hope this helps
