Locating thermostats I was told my truck has 2 thermostats, is this true and where are they located?

Who told you this??????? There is only one Thermostat in your Truck. Follow the Upper Radiator Hose to the Motor. Remove the Housing that the Hose is Connected to and the Thermostat is Under the Bell Housing.

You have one thermostat and one water control valve,here's a link to a diagram,just enlarge to see better.Here's the parts,it shows two thermostats,one is called a water outlet,just match them up as you replace with gaskets..

Where are the thermostats located in a 2001 chevy hd durmax diesal. I got told there were 2?


They are both located under the thermostat cover on the top front of the engine.

(Items #2 and #3 in the illustration below)

My 1999 chevy blazer won't go into 4w drive. My light keeps blinking. Was told to check 2 plugs. Do not know where these are located on the vehicle. Could you please help. A true Blond.


the two plugs might be the ones connecting the wireing to the back of the 4WD pushbuttons panel.located to the right side of steering wheel on the dash. pry it out gently with a slim screwdriver.

Need to replace thermostat on 2005 Chevy 2500HD 4x4


The thermostat is located in the water pump next to the 2 heater hoses. I think you have to buy the housing to get a thermostat. Not serviced seperately.

Not true,Although,it is located in the pump,You don't need to replace the pump if the thermostat is replace.See pix
