I have a 2007 ford explorer and the codes came back as solenoid a b and c. We had someone look at it yesterday an they said it probably is the shift intake solenoid. It doesn't accelerate like it should to 25mph but after you hit 25 and after it drives fine. Does this sound right the shift intake solenoid or could it be something else? I want to be sure before I order the part needed to replace it. Thanks!

Your not making that repair yourself

You need a shop to properly diagnose the
trans codes

They need reference material to look them up & follow
trouble charts

I doubt 3 solenoids would fail unless they are all in
one pack as some ford trans are.

Yes they are all in one pack.

Okey then I have installed the pressure control & solenoid packs in my LS The list was $515 & I paid $332 wholesale as I once owned a trans shop, so I get the better price

help.png Help with thisTech notes When the a transmission solenoid is stuck off, in most cases the problem is not the electrical part of the solenoid; the problem is foreign material obstructing the mechanical function of the solenoid or the flow of the fluid through the transmission valve body. If the transmission fluid is very dirty, it is recommend changing the transmission fluid and if possible removing the transmission pan for further diagnosis. Excessive debris or metal particles on the transmission pan could be an indication that there is a transmission mechanical failure and that the transmission will need to be rebuilt or replaced.

What needs to be done for a PO761 diagonist code reading on a 1996 ford explorer sport 4x4

That's indicative of a shift solenoid issue. The solenoid is located inside the valve body of the transmission. It'll probably need to be replaced.
