SOURCE: lexus alarm

My GS 300 arlarm kept going off now for two months unless the battery is disconnected; the solution to my problem was that my key had an electrical fault. I confirmed it by placing the faulty key within a metal box or a steal pot with a heavy lid. upon doing so it stopped going off. I later purchased a new key

SOURCE: coolant boiling in resevoir.

It can be faulty coolant temperature sensor. Its not sensing exact coolant heat temperature so its overheating then required level.

-----------

Get the coolant pressure tested, its definitely leaking coolant. You will need to get the coolant running line.

Pressure test will help you to know from where exactly coolant/refrigerant is getting leaked.

Radiator fans won't shut down

The fans are controlled by the Engine Coolant Temperature sensor mounted in the coolant hose at the top front of the engine. Disconnect the electrical connector and see what happens. Fans should not run. If that cut the fans off replace the ECT sensor.

The ECT sensor provides input to the Engine Control Module which controls the radiator fan ...Its usually the center sensor connector thats Grey..

When idoling or driving car coolant starts boiling over at resevoir.I changed thermostat but did not help.when it boils over, temp is not even half way on gauge

Hi!

Your coolant temp sensor may be defective, check wiring also, if this senor doesn't send the signal the Cooling Fan won't kick in. Fan will come on when temp reaches half way on gauge.

Good Luck!!

It is over heating boiling over into the overflow tank i check the fan when this was happening and the fan was not working ? thermostat or fan maybe sensor or relay what is most command ? problem.

Most common is the thermostat, especially if it's boiling over.
You can check the fan by disconnecting the wire connector from the fan and use 2 jumper wires direct from the battery and just touch the prongs on the fan where the wire was connected, if you get a spark, switch the wires.
If the fan comes on, then the coolant sensor is bad.If it doesn't come on, the fan is bad.
Could also be a clogged radiator, but do the thermostat first.

Check your fuses first...I think they are on the driver's side, side area of the dash.

Next, I know this says SENSOR but this is the steps to replacing the FAN SWITCH:

2.7L Engine
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Partially drain cooling system.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector .
  4. Remove engine coolant sensor from coolant outlet tube .
To install:
  1. Apply thread sealant to sensor threads.
  2. Install engine coolant temperature sensor into coolant outlet tube.
  3. Tighten sensor to 20 ft. lbs.(28 Nm) torque.
  4. Connect electrical connector to engine coolant temperature sensor .

On my 1996 3.8L Camaro, the only way to get the cooling fans to operate is to disconnect the connector from the coolant temperature sensor, then both fans continuously operate. With the temp sensor plug...

Which one of the coolant sensors have you been replacing or have you replaced both of them?
Just so you know there are two of them, one is for the cooling fans and one is for the guage on the cluster.
Report back with which one you replaced so we can further assist you.

Location of thermostat and replacement

Finding the thermostat is easy. Just follow the top radiator hose back to the engine.
The question I have is how to get to the bottom screw of the thermostat housing.

Any Sugustions anyone?
