Why do my brakes pump up after bleeding and still go to the floor when i start the truck?

Hello.

If the brakes pump up after you start your engine, it means your brakes are good and there are no bleeds.

They pump up as the car builds pressure inside the brake fluid circuit.

If the pedal loses pressure and hits the floor while the engine is on, this means that you may have brake fluid leaks and your brakes won t hold much longer (needs immediate fix).

07 raider, brakes go to floor, no fluid lose.

Your brake master cylinder needs to be replaced, it sounds like it has a bad seal in it. f it was a caliper you would have fluid loss, and if it was your booster you would not be able to pump them back up. It is just losing pressure slowly. Change your master and make sure to bench bleed the master first, I hope this helps

How do i bleed the brakes on my 1984 ford mustang never done it before

same as any nother car. take off mastercylinder cap. get a helper set in the drivers seat. apply pressure to the brake peddle. with a box or tube wrench break the fluid *** on the top of the calliper/back of drum loose. foot pressure on peddle should push it to the floor -hold it on the floor! tighten the *** on the caliper/drum tight-ish. not over tight. then let peddle up off floor. pump till you get resistance/tighteness. hold pressure on peddle, loosen *** again and peddle will go to floor again tighten ***, lift up peddle pump for pressure. repeat untill all air is out of line/ or fluid runs out clear. never let the master cylinder get low on fluid. have plenty on hand. repeat for all 4 tires.

LOSING PRESSURE WHEN I PRESS BRAKE PEDAL, BUT NO OUTSIDE LEAKS

check the brake pads. When they start to wear down, they can have extra play in the pedal causing you to have to press further or pump them. If they are still loosing pressure, check the fluid levels and check again for leakage all through the lines, both front and back.

first make sure there are no brake fluid leaks, sometimes the steel lines get rotted and start leaking. to test the booster with the engine off pump brake pedal about 10 - 12 times on the last pump hold the brake pedal down and start the car if the booster is good the pedal will drop alittle.

When bleeding you start at the rt rear to left rear to rt front to left front always checking to make sure master stays with fluid, also start by removing one bleeder at a time and make sure the hole is clean and free of dirt brake clean should flow through, do this to all 4, then have someone pump pedal 3 times and hold then open bleeder when you close bleeder tell them pump again three times, do this all around until you have a good pedal, also check for leaks after bleeding, may have bad rusted line or bad master but bleed each wheel good first.dont worry about pedal going to floor everytime, just make sure fluid flows out of all bleeders when bleeding. hope this helps.
