Question about 2000 Mitsubishi Diamante
Fuses are good, coolant is fine.
There are several things which can be done to diagnose the problem. First, with some of the Electronic Digital Climate Control units, if you have this type, there is a self-diagnostic routine a Technician can punch into the keypad for an evaluation of the system. You would need the sequence of the display buttons and a list of applicable Codes. This is something a Dealer would know.
Next, Check your heater hoses entering and exiting the heater core. This is essential in determining the presence of heat. Both hoses should be equally hot when the engine is running and the heater is turned on. If the water is not flowing through the hoses a water control part is bad or the heater core is plugged. This is when you look at water flow control valves or solenoids.
These control parts are activated either by direct cable, electric wire, or Vacuum lines. For the Vacuum devices, you should check for the presence of Vacuum to the operating Solenoid.
If you have equal heat in the heater hoses, then you look at the ductwork under the dash. A small flap control must be failing to route airflow past the heater core.
