Paassenger footwell on my audi a4 1.9tdi(1999) 110bhp has water running into it when air con/heater is running. Any idea's?

This only happens when air con/heater is in use. Water seems to be running from near central console below the dash (right hand drive).

Check where the battery is located if its close to the firewall leaves can block up the drains suppose to let rain water out. can over fill and eventually flow in through the heater and cause all sorts of problems it also blows ccu [central control unit] which controlls all electrics and wets the interior carpets

Most likly the drain hose for the aircon is dislocated or is blocked up. If upon inspection you find hose still connected then a low preasure air inject into hose may unblock. If you can get a venturi suction on the hose that will extract. some form of vacume pump will do the same. Best to extract any blockage if you can as it will only re-occour

If your car has a sunroof, one if the sunroof drains runs down through windshield post down through to bottom of the car. If it gets plugged it will back up into car. If it's coolant you're finding (sticky and smelling like coolant) your heater core is leaking

if the leaking is under the car that is normal that is just condensation if it is inside the car under the dash then it is the heater core the core is behind the dashboard

Hyundai Getz leaks near pedals when raining

My Getz is also having similar problem. I have thrice got water test done from Hyundai server center. After 2nd test they put some sealants underbody and return the car, but still water was leaking in. 3rd time water test, hyundai said its all fine, no problem but still problem persists. It happens when it rains only, so I dont suspect air-con filters or radiator problems. Water pool is created in driver side footwell only. During heavy rain, I tried to troubleshoot but couldnt find any fault point from where water might be leaking inside. Its second year, I have running into this problem, creating stinking smell inside the car due to wet mats. Looks like I need to do away with my car.

Pool of water in footwell behind drivers seat.

Is the water only in footwell behind driver seat? If yes, then have you checked the weather stripping around rear door (assuming that it is 4 doors)? My brother had the same problem, and behold it was the stripping around the door. If you find that is the cause, standard household weather stripping added to door frame will work well.

PROBABLY HEATER CORE(small like a radiator under dash which water runs through to heat car) if youre not using water in the radiator it could be the Air Con drain tube, are you using the A/C or heater that will give you the answer where the water is from

1999 Audi A4, european car. When air conditioning has been on for a while and you turn off the engine, water comes into the footwell on the passenger side of the car. There is never water under the car...

Yes there is. The drain should come down from the heater core area (behind the glovebox) and down under the car. Yours is either clogged, or for some reason has been pulled off the core, so that water just flows from the heater core drain nipple directly into the car.
