SOURCE: engine light, how you tell if
By a cheap OBD2 (95 or newer) scanner (Kragen auto) and retrieve the fault code(s), if it is a 1995 or newer many of the basic codes are common to all cars, reference this code to a repair manual at your local libary or go on line and type in the fault code, many times an explation and common parts that fail to set the code will be posted, remember the code tells what system is at fault, it can be wiring or a hard part like an O2/Cat sensor or the power train control module to name a few.

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door

Any aftermarket cap will be sufficient. You can purchase a Mopar cap that is the original cap replacement from the dealer, but it is not necessary.
