Question about 1988 Ford Ranger
Bought a 88 ranger in great shape, running good for about 3 days.the engine started to bog down after about 20 mins of driving, long story short changed EVERY elecrtical part possible, even the brain nothing, got info that after market car alarms can cause truck not to start.REMOVED EVERY WIRE CONNNECTED TO ALARM,STILL NOTHING
If I understand you correctly your vehicle will still start but bogs down...If this is the case have the catalytic converter checked if it is plugged this would cause the same conditions as you described.....

Check for water in fuel . Take off fuel filter and blow it out onto clean paper and observe what comes out.
