Question about 1994 Ford Thunderbird
My 1994 thunderbird 4.6L cuts out and sometimes dies. when it dies I need to shut off the key before it will start again. it feels like a backfire but the tach drops to zero like the power was just shut off and then rebounds. most of the time the car will remain running and other than the cutting out it seems to run smooth.
Try changing the pick up sensor ,and cleaning the connections on the coil pack, could just the be the connections on the pick up sensor itself.Hope this is just your sunday car and your daily car is a small engined shopping basket type of car.thinking here and its hard as only ever seen one on an american tv show but if its all dropping off ???what about the ignition contact switch on the steering lock, its not loose or contacts worn ??my sunday car is a 4lt jaguar XJ6 sovereign so i cant call the pot black can i.But whatever it is, this is a stupid thing causing this and its down to trial and error to locate the fault
