SOURCE: 97 Camry - trunk will not latch closed

Sparay lock assy with lubricant, and look where release cable attaches to lock assy, and push/pry it one way or the other to get it to move, opposite of where it is. Lube cable too.

SOURCE: front floor release latch for trunk in 2005 camry

Either the boot release cable is broken or its been stretched. It is easily fixable if you know what you are doing, if not your local mechanic should be able to assist. I do not believe it would be very expensive unless you need to replace the cable all together

SOURCE: 97 toyota camry trunk latch is stuck not allowing

I have the same problem. I've found that if you push down on the trunk lid very firmly eventually the latch settles in and will open with the pull lever next to the drivers seat. I usually pull up and push down to mimic the closing motion in a firm manner and after a few tries this allows me to open it up. Consequently, I've begun to close the trunk lid with some force, slam it if you will, and this seems to prevent this from happening. I've lubed the latch with no success either. Just a Band Aid solution, not an actual fix.

Trunk will not close

check that latch is releasing when using remote. remote uses a cable to pull latch and cable may need to be lubed causing the latch to stick open. Let me guess if you slam a couple times it will latch, lube the actuator cable and latch well. hope this helps

Infinity I 35 trunk lid will not release when actuator is activated. Can hear it working, but will not release

You have to get to the trunk lock mechanism from the inside through the back seat. From center of the lock mechanism, just to the driver's side is a "switch" the needs to be "slid up". After that, should work like before. For the pic orientation, you are looking from outside in & over.

Trunk will not open on 200 toyota camry latch and key don't work at all

Well after reading some of these solutions I was a bit worried as it sounded like it might not be a simple fix, luckily it was a very simple fix. On the 1999 Toyota Camry the driver side trunk release is latched to the trunk lock assembly via a metallic cable. This cable is housed in an outer tubing. At the end of the cable/tubing there is a plastic tab or notch for lack of a better word. The tab/notch is supported by a U-shaped socket right by the lock assembly. In my case the cable/tubing had dislodged from the socket. After I lodged the cable/tubing back into the socket, the trunk release worked like a charm, again! sweet!

U need to put a little grease to the latch, check if the spring is still hooked in position, if not just fit it back and ur problem is solved. Pliz vote if it works, good luck.
