Volkswagen Polo 1.4 Twist 2004 keeps getting wet in the footwell

Volkswagen Polo 1.4 Twist 2004 keeps getting wet in the foot-well behind the passenger seat, I have taken it to a garage(Volkswagen specialists) 3 times now and they keep saying the problem is with debris around the pollen filter under the scuttle panel but no matter how many times they clear it out it is still getting wet. The mechanic is now saying if this doesn't work it could be a leak from the front windscreen. This has cost me 250 to 300 so far with no end in site. Any ideas?

SOURCE: Water keeps filling up under passenger seat in rear of car

My 2001 passat did the same thing. my leak was coming from the door panel. Open your door and use a water hose to simulate rain water running against your window. Water should run into door and drain out of several drain holes at the very bottom of your door. Check for water leaking from the bottom of your plastic door panel. The water runs down into the door and leaks through your inner door panel seal causing water to leak inside from the bottom of your door panel and run into the floorboard instead of draining out the water hole in the bottom of your door.

SOURCE: My opel vectra leaked rain water possibly through

Yes it sounds like the drain pipe from the vent infront of the w/screen was blocked up as usual and it comes out down either side under the front mudgaurds as its the place were the wiper motor is fitted and the place that ****** the air from out side for your heater .so when its bunged up then yes it will overflow into the car through the heater vents,,so keep them clean with a 10lbs of air from a compressor.
DO about just after summer each year.. RON
and blow from the pipe under the mudgaurd up as it will only take you 10 minutes that way, just find the drain pipe ..

SOURCE: water filling the back passenger

the spacer bar holding the passanger seat in place is cracked/rusting? If so you will need to get the section cut out and a new plate fabricated to fit and welded in. Check the door seals are intact as well, the water might be coming in there down to the lowest point.

Check the drain from the air vent behind the hood. Also the heater hoses. Modern windscreens are not usually a sorce of leeks.

How does water get into the rear footwell of my 2002 3dr Polo

have you a sunroof ? the sunroof has drainage tubes that run from each corner of the interior sunroof down the inside of vehicle and exit so water should escape out from sunroof well, if one of these tubes is blocked, split ,out of position it could easily let the water into the vehicle ,if you dont have a sun roof there may be a poor hatch seal letting water through the boot area into foot well , is the spare wheel in the boot area ? if so check if there is water there as well, keep me posted if you wish

Water in foot well

What year is your Polo? If the water is getting in the foot well after it rains on when you wash the vehicle, it is most likely a stopped up drain holes in the cowl usually where the wiper motor is located. If there is a lot tree leaves and bebris that collect on the hood and windshield wiper area this can cause the drain holes to clog up. The holes are located on each side on the car at the bottom of the windshield. On the other hand if you are getting water in the fot well every time the engine is running then a leaking heater core could be the problem. If the car has the proper amount of coolant in the cooling system then the water in the footwell will also have coolant mixed with it.

Cant find fuse box 1999 VW polo

For 1999 Polos, they are behind the mini glove box/compartment underneath the steering wheel in the driver's footwell. Open this glovebox, then remove the cover by lifting it out completely. The fuse box is in the gap behind it.

Seat Alhambra 1996 1.9L water leak drivers footwell

the water can travel along surfaces or beams in the car so you cannot tell where it is actually leaking. in my ford windstar water leaked in right over the fuse box. it ran along a cross beam from the passenger side. if it has those plastic strips they use to go in between small gaps in the metal... like along the roof where the roof is and the metal of the sides joins it is likely they are leaking. best to take a garden hose and have someone inside the car with a flashlight on the floor looking for leaks
