SOURCE: Battery died replaced battery but now the radio

Quick and free fix sir or maam. The radio locks up when the battery is removed on today's cars.I don't know who decided to start it but it is somewhat stupid...I think anyhow. All you have to do is call a Ford dealer and they will give you the code and method to unlock your stereo.Write it down because your battery may get disconnected for many other reasons than a dead battery when repaired.I am pretty sure they just need the VIN.You can put aftermarket stereos in too if you ever want to.Good luck! fuse is in the fuse box under the dash but to be honest the MK1 or first generation focus had radio problems. The easiest fix is to replace the radio with an aftermarket one.

Hi I have a 2005 ford f150.The menu and cd eject buttons do not work it acts as if im not even pushing them. The buttons

Two things could be wrong here. first and most common is that The buttons themselves are broken on the inside behind the face of the radio/cd player. You can remove the face and check, you will see how cheaply they are made. Of course you can't just buy this part. The second is dirt. it will make it way into everything. Again you will have to remove the face, use brake clean (doesn't leave a residue) and spray the switches. These will be small and have a button in the center. The center is were you want to spray. And push the button as your cleaning it to work the dirt out. Then you will have to let it set for awhile to dry or use compressed air to dry it out. This procedure is for a factory radio. If you have an after market radio, this is a little more complicated to take apart. and the second step applies to this, as there are no plastic buttons like the factory radio. Also these faces don't pull apart, you have to have a small set of screw drivers to do this work.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
You must have the security anti-theft code for your VW radio from the car manufacturer, or from a VW dealer!

You can find the radio code at: http://www.radio-code.co.uk/

The sequence of VW radio gamma programming is:
1. Push simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys until on the screen will appear "1000" displayed.
2. Release keys. No more push on "SCAN" and "RDS" keys because otherwise number "1000" will be considered as first safe code attempt.
For example: we have the security code "5079". Then:
3. By the no.# 1 key you will set up the first safe code digit. Push 5 times on the no.# 1 button. The "5" number will be setted.
4. By the no.# 2 key you will set up the second safe code digit. Push 10 times on the no.# 2 button. The "0" number will be setted.
5. By the no.# 3 key you will set up the third safe code digit. Push 7 times on the no.# 3 button. The "7" number will be setted.
6. By the no.# 4 key you will set up the four-th safe code digit. Push 9 times on the no.# 4 button. The "9" number will be setted.
7. Then push again simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys for confirm this safe code. On the screen will be displayed "SAFE" notice. Release keys! For few seconds a radio frequence will be displayed.

The radio is now ready for use!

Changed battery now radio will work on am only when i push the am/fm button the display reads set1

When you replaced the battery, it reset the radio. You will need to reprogram the radio stations you want on fm. Find the radio station you want and then press the set button on the radio and then the corresponding number on your radio (ie: set1, set2, set3, set4 or set5)

2007 CRV AM/FM radio works fine but CD player does'nt work

Sounds like the CD changer is defective, sometimes the dealer will offer a "one time goodwill" repair when it is out of warranty for miles but not for the time period. Check with the dealer where you purchased the car.

Radio code

If you don't have the radios security code, you can try entering 1111 as some replacement radios were coded with this security code. Your local Audi Dealer may be able to provide the correct security code for your vehicle, if you provide them with your vehicles Identification Number (VIN). This VIN is typically located on the drivers door pillar.

The radio should have a serial number on the unit which also can be given to the Audi dealer and checked in their data base of radio security codes. The serial number will start with AUZ, one radio serial number for example is AUZ1Z9A1965412.

To enter the code on the Wiesbaden Radio: Turn on the radio, SAFE should be displayed.
Push and hold the AM/FM button, then while holding the AM button down, push and hold down the SCAN button. Release the AM/FM and SCAN buttons, and the display should show 1000. Now enter the correct code using the radio pre-set station buttons (1-4). Button 1 changes the first digit in the code "1"000, Button 2 changes the second digit in the code 1"0"00, button 3 changes the third digit, button 4 changes the last digit in the code. In most cases the first digit is a 1 and won't need to be changed. You push each pre-set station button multiple times to step through the digits (1-9) to get the correct code displayed.

Code 1246 would entered by pushing button "2" two times, pushing button 3 four times, and pushing button 4, six times.

After entering the correct security code, push and hold down the AM/FM button, then while holding down the AM/FM button, push and hold down the SCAN button. The display will then show SAFE, release the two buttons, and now the radio should play correctly.
