How to reset oil light for 2000 jetta vr6

Did you have the oil leak prior to changing the oil? The "change engine oil" indicator is just a service reminder to get the oil changed. You need to reset it. Call your local dealer or check your owner's manual for instructions on doing this. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dont have a problem yet. want to avoid problems. need to know what to do fro service. have 124000 miles on 2.0 jetta and never had anything but oil changed and oil filter.

Very nice to know that somebody care of his car.I understood that this is 1.9 TDI JETTA in124000 miles. To avoid problems in the future you have to change gearbox oil by recommended from a manufacturer.Second-Check all wheel bearings/rear ones/ for noise. Also make suspension test. any way you have to visit vw workshop for full diagnostic of the JETTA

2000 vw jetta tdi diesel automatic has problem shifting from 2 to 3

check the oil level to do this you really need it pulged in to the diag as the leve has to be taken with the oil at a tempreture of 30-40 degrees, undo the small 5mm allenkey bolt in the gearbox sump and you should get a small amount of oil trickle out this is ok if no oil trickles out then its to low and will need topping up if the level is ok you may hace a sticking solenoid it which case you will require a new valve body

My epc light went on in my 2002 volkswagen jetta

Take it to the dealer, the EPC warning light - and even more the failsafe run which doesn't allow you drive faster than 20mph) is an indication of serious motor troubles. They can read the ECU faultcodes, which should be a good startingpoint for troubleshooting the cause ...

You could do some basic troubleshooting like checking the air filter, the oil level, the spark plugs, etc. You didn't fill it up with bad gas, did you ? And does the engine make strange noises/vibration when running idle ? In case you fixed some obvious cause, you can dis- and reconnect the battery to erase the engine's faultcode. If it's not fixed, the EPC (and failsafe run) will simply come on again.

My advice would be not to drive it untill it's fixed to prevent more potential damage.

What are the tune-up guidelines for 2000 Jetta that has 153K miles? Also, in the past week the oil gauge stopped working (but oil level is good) and the trunk latch won't open (it makes the sound like the...

A mechanic told me there really isn't a "tune up" per say for a Jetta TDI. Most importantly, the timing belt (w/water pump) replacement is the biggest concern. Change all the belts, check the glow plugs. If you drive on the highway a lot, the mass air flow sensor and its related hoses should be ok (carbon build up).

Valve job for 2000 VW Jetta GL w/105,000 miles

is he sure it isn't the rings are worn also?  If so don't waste money on a valve job, when you really need a rebuilt motor.  Had you changed the oil more you wouldn't need this repair at this time.  Good uck as his price is decent.  Ask him the price for a long block?

I don't know what kind of oil pan I need for a 2000 volkswagon jetta 2.0 engine

The oil pan is aluminum and can be damaged easily. As far as i know, it is dealer part only. Check with your local part store and dealer for availibility. Also, the oil pan uses a sealant, not a gasket. If you repair it yourseslf and get parts from dealer, the whole tube of sealant is too much. If the whole tube is used, the oil pick up tube may get plugged.

Need a new Turbo for my 2000 Jetta TDI

hi turbos are not the easiest thing to change on any car firstly you can get recondtioned ones for half the price of the dealers one and it has the same warrenty but they are all funny about getting someone who knows what there doing to fit them as the problem with turbos is the heat they generate and need a good oil supply to them so they usually insist on replacing the oil pipes and changing the oil and filter and clearing all the inlet pipes of blockages and flushing the its oil cooler as for the catalystic converter the problem your fiance is going to have is that this is another item that gets that hot when you come to remove them the bolts and sensors are weled together and are very difficult to remove it all depends on how good at taking things apart and putting them back together he is best of luck yates210456
