How to change cam sensor on pontiac GR AM 3,4L 1999

Place a jack underneath the engine with a block of wood on it as to not damage the engine and pump up the jack just enough to keep the engine from sagging down. Then remove the engine mount near the power steering unit. Removing the motor mount doesn't have to be done, but it makes it easier to remove the power steering pump (your choice). Remove power steering pump and set it aside keeping all the hoses attached. Camshaft position sensor is located beneath power steering pump. It should be held on by 1 bolt if I remember right. Disconnect the 2 wire harness and remove sensor.

Need to replace water pump on nissan 1997 quest

Not sure why all other parts removed? Locate the water pump by following the lower radiator hose to the motor...the connection is part of the water pump housing...Also look at the replacement water pump to see what few bolts need to be removed to switch the pump. Be sure to use a water pump gasket sealer when applying the new water pump gasket...coat both sides as this also helps to hold in place while re-assembling. Reconnect all hoses and clamps...install the belt before testing...Talk with your local parts store also...the water pump usually comes with a replacement diagrahm too. Hope this helps.

2.7 litre 2000 intrepid coolant leakappears to be getting worse. It trickled now creating puddles.Hard to locate appears to be wher bottom hose attches to block

it could be a bad lower rad hose however it can also be the water pump leaking, these pumps are located behind the timing cover and when they leak the fluid will run down and drip off in this area, the timing cover will have to be removed to inspect the water pump for leaking,a pressure test of the cooling system is the best to find the leak.if the pump is leaking then this is the time to replace the timing belts as the pump sits behind the belts.

Is water pump easy to access? have to change someones water pump and have never look under hood of Intrepid. Have to fix in driveway and have like 2' of snow here. Just wondering if there is any under car...

No under car work involved - this operation can be done from above - hard on back -- water pump is located inside timing cover - runs of timing belt

My 1997 Lincoln Town Car is NOT overheating but is leaking anti-freeze. The discharge of fluid is not coming out of the reservoir. what is the problem ? Water pump? Oil? the car has about 160,000 miles but...

Water pumps have a bleed hole located near the pulley on the water pump. When the seals start going out on the water pump you will see a leak there. The air flow from the fan and through the radiator usually blow on this so it scatters the water all over and it's hard to see exactly where it's coming from but if you look close it should be dripping from behind the water pump pulley.
