Question about 2006 GMC Envoy XL Denali

1 Answer

Hi my name is Dana, & my question is: Does the 2006 Envoy XL Denali come already equiped with a transmission cooler or is that something I have to install one myself.

I will be driving my 2006 Envoy XL Denali from AZ to DC next Sunday the 9th. I will also (for the first time) be towing a 6x12 foot UHaul Trailer. Uhaul has one in stock (Regular & Heavy Duty) but, I don't want to purchase one if mine already comes with one. Thanks

any cooler

Can call a dealer with your VIN # & they will tell you
how it was built

Thank you Mr. Peter Zapp for the advice...I will call the dealer and ask them tomorrow.....it is after 7pm here and they are closed..... I can' t check the car as it is in the shop having lifters replaced as the #4 Pistin was mis-firing...close to 3K to get that fixed and I'm retiring from the AF going back home to the DMV area to spend my retirement near my family & I don't want to not purchase a $50 cooler and have other issues on my way home. But if one is already in there then that is one less thing for me to have to purchase.

Rear fuse box is under the seat bottom, rear seat (middle row) on the driver's side. There is a plastic cover over the top of it that snaps into place.

SOURCE: Towing with 2001 GMC Yukon XL

It saves your transmission from costly repairs. The little bit of fuel you think you may save by not using it, will certainly not outweigh that big bill for new transmission. Saves transmission from shifting up & down too much.

If you have the selector dial, you will have to pull the plastic cover from the console. Plug in new selector switch and hope that it works out for you. I have a 2004 and it doese not look too hard. Be careful and not crack the plastic.cover.......

There is a bulletin for this problem. You have to go to the dealership and have the air spring sensor calibrated.Only the dealers can do this calibration. It does not take long to calibrate a vehicle.Unless they find a different problem.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Try another repair shop. Someone must connect some measurment equipment to your car, to find what is wrong. That is the fastest and most best way to solve this.

The guy at autozone should be correct, I'm assuming you mean throttle position sensor. It would not be related to any of the recent repairs that you have completed. Did he mention if it was a dealer only part? If not he should be able to sell you the part. If you have some mechanical skills it is a relatively easy repair on most vehicles.
