i understand this already .the rotors need to be replaced. i would like to replacr my standar duty rotors with heavy duty vented rotors. My question is will thecalipers work or do i need to replace with heavy duty calipers because the new rotors will be thicker?

Turning brake rotors involves removing the rotor from car & having a machine shop or automotive repair center spin them on a lathe & slowly grind down the surfaces until they are clean, level, and true. Not needed with every brake pad replacement.------------------------------------------------------------------------

Take a screwdriver to pry the brake pads away from the rotor then see if the caliper comes off.

Procedure to replace rear rotors

In short, Remove wheels and tires. Remove brake caliper and brake caliper mount. Remove axle. Take nuts off inside axle and remove entire hub. From back side remove bolts holding the rotors to the hubs.... remove rotor and reassemble in reverse. You will need new oil seals.... This is a heavy duty truck and has some big parts and some really large and tight bolts. Not a job for the meek!

I changed the front pads on my 97 Sebring convertible. Also put on new rotors, and changed the calipers. My car bounces slightly, and if I apply the brakes hard, they become spongy. I have bled them off as...

Spongy means air present in the hydraulic system,I recommend check and recheck all of the brake system areas where air could enter(master cylinder, fittings, calipers, etc.)and bleed the entire system again.
Good luck !

Its has to come of from the back. Is a 45 min job in at the dealer, so it is a big job. All the bolts for taking it off are in the back, plus you have to take every thing of thats in the way, tire rod end, etc.
