Doom light won't stay off 98 Lincoln town car

The Panel Dimmer Control used to brighten the instrument panel also controls the dome lamp. Rotate the thumb wheel fully to the right, past the detent, dome light locks on. Try rotating it to the left.
It's next to your headlight switch. goodluck

I have a 1995 ford mustang and im experiencing something kinda werid if i let the car sit for more than a couple of hours my dome light doesnt work when i open the door but i can pull the headlight switch...

If you have a light control module then that is probably failing. However if the dome light is activated by small switches in the door pillars it is possible that the contact points may be rusty or have a bad earth.

Gmc dome light troubles

Only one simple suggestion here--the buttons in the door when open that turn them on may be bad or stuck---I have had several vehicles with this problem and lubing them can fix the issue.

Also check the dimmer wheel to see it is not all the way at one end where dome lights will be on all the time.

Short of these have a expert take a look- the dimmer wheel is the most common cause--being clicked all the way to one end dome lights will be on.

Find out what position your dimmer switch is at, ie: on, door, auto, off, located either beside the drivers knee, or above where the dome is located.

Dome light on my 1998 gmc suburban wont shut off

Maybe your door switch button has broken off. Sometimes I bump my dash light dimmer wheel (which also turns on my dome light) and it stays on in my 93 Chevy pickup

Dash lights come on when dome light goes out

The only possible location I can think these circuits cross is at the headlight switch. The dimmer rheostat or the wheel you turn to dim and brighten your dash lights also should turn on your dome light so I think maybe a new headlight switch assembly or rheostat should fix tour problem

Interior dome light stays on when driving.

Sounds like the dome light has been turned on using the switch on the dash. Most of the time the dash dimmer switch is set up so that if the dimmer is in the maximum position, the dome light can be turned on. If the dome light has been turned on like this, it still will turn off after some time to save your battery. Then when you unlock the door with the remote, it goes back to the same state it was when it was left in - "ON". Check for this switch on the dash, and roll it to get it off of the "ON" position.

Dome lights

Check your dimmer switch for the dash guages. If it is all the way up the dome light will not turn off.

Dome light does not come on when doors open, but does when dim switch is rotated. The dome light bypass button has no effect on it.

All the door switches use the same wiring harness. It's an orange and a white wire. There is a switch on the dash to turn the dome and wheel lights off. If the lights come on with the dimmer, the whole harness is OK, so now check to see if that switch is turned off... or bad
