Question about 1998 Volvo V70
GO TO a auto-pars store and the OBDII is located insude the console door and is a black cover take it off and plug in a scan-tool and retrieve the P code (which means engine management) a lot of times it is an evap code but i am not positive and DONT REFUEL car with engine running this could send that code to ECU

This could be one of a number of problems, the check engine light can mean anything from a faulty sensor to much bigger things, i would suggest you take it to a autoshop and ask them to retrieve the ecu codes for you these will tell you what is wrong
