SOURCE: 96 Nissan Maxima continues to have engine light

I had a similar problem - took it into 'Nissan Professionals' and they changed everything you did as well, and had no luck. After 4 or 5 times working on it, they told me that it was a 'loose wire' that had to be re-soddered and then the problem was fixed. I don't know where the wire was, but they made it sound like it was in or around the fuse panel under the hood.
I hope this might shed some light on the problem.

SOURCE: What do I use to

use carburetor cleaner in spray can. spray it inside of the throttle assembly while you have the flap opened and clean it with a small brush and wipe with rag. if yot are going to remove it from the intake, than you can dip it in carb cleaner solution that comes in a gallon can. you can get it at any autoparts store.just make sure that you remove the IAC valve and the TPS sensor so all you have are metal parts before you dip it in for few hours. Than stuff will clean it really nice.

Does it start back up? If so do this, buy a can of engine throttle body cleaner (made by CRC products) and clean the throttle bore and blade, also clean the idle speed control air bypass valve mounted to the throttle body.

How fix the throttle body?

No codes? Could be upper O2 sensors are old & weak. or idle air bypass valve is dirty. It maybe underneath at the back of the upper plenum. Must be removed, cleaned by hand, tested. If bad replace. You tube has procedure.

It will be located on the throttle body. You should be able to find a suitable throttle body or carb cleaner at your local auto store.

My 1997 Nissan Sentra when at idle (like at stop sign) acts like its choking and if I don't give it gas it dies

I post this recommendation often as most people do not know about it. Your throttle body is gunked up to kingdom come with engine grime and is sticking not allowing the proper amount of air to get into your engine.

Your specific scenario sounds like the engine computer is not able to adequately adjust air coming into the engine and if you do not rev the engine, forcing the throttle body open the engine will choke out literally and die.

CLEAN the throttle body. there is a metal flap inside that is getting stuck. Check here to see a clean throttle body

Here is the quick and dirty: Your gas pedal is hooked up to a wire or motor that turns a flap open and closed and various degrees of open and closed as you apply and take pressure off of the pedal. this flapper gets gunked up and sticks. it is the sticking that causes your car to choke and die :)

Go buy CRC Throttle Body Cleaner and remove the throttle body and spray that in there and wipe clean with a towel.

Search forums for vehicle specific instructions on how to remove the throttle body and clean it. Guaranteed you are not the only person with this issue.

I will try and help for your Nissan Sentra

1. Open the hood, look at then engine.
2. On the right side there will be an air intake tube that is black and hooked up to your air box and throttle body with hose clamps
3. Losen the hose clamp from the throttle body and remove the black air hose from it and gently move it out of the way.
--> If you do not want to remove the throttle body completely, skip to step #7
4. there will be 4 bolts holding the throttle body to the intake manifold.
5. Note any and all electrical connections to the throttle body.
6. Remove the electrical connections (unplug) and remove the bolts (4) and the throttle body should come off.
7. Spray CRC Throttle Body Cleaner all over and wipe clean with a cloth that can get really dirty.
8. Make it SHINE :) then reinstall
9. put 4 bolts back on, reconnect the electrical connections you remembered from step #5
10. Reconnect the black air hose and tighten the hose clamp...

Done!

Start the car and it should be good as new. (sort of)

How do I change the spark plugs on my 2008 Nissan Versa?

No answer here. Looks like you have to remove the intake manifold (5- 10mm bolts in front, on the rear at the throttle body, it looks like connect from air intake snorkel, remove snorkel and take out the bolt on the other side to get to the plugs. This POS site tells you nothing useful.

How often should you have a fuel induction/throttle body service performed ona 2002 Nissan Pathfinder 4X4 SE?

I don't understand the question!

You can spray the Throttle Body yourself, every 2 or 3 years, if you like,
with CRC Throttle Body Cleaner.

There is nothing to clean or service, for the most part

Injector Cleaner-is a waste of money.
What would 10 oz of anything put into a 15 gallon fuel tank do?
common sense

No accerlation when pushing on gas pedal

IT may be as simple as a failed throttle cable (the cable may have come of its routing too)
Get under the hood and look at the thottle body which you can actuate by hand (van in park, break on) with the engine running the engine should rev by moving the throttle body.
I hope this may have helped,
Tom
